    Hi everyone!
    A few things:
    - I said "avery elle" instead of "avery" for the removable adhesive sheets. Sorry! Sigh. :(
    - Would love to hear YOUR favorite crafty tools!

    • @lizziedae91
      @lizziedae91 5 лет назад +6

      Jennifer McGuire Ink i really urge you to try out the new scrapbook.com domed blending foam, it fits on the tim holtz handles & gives a noticeably smoother blend. I think both have their place in the craft room.

      Avery Elle has such a nice ring to it :)

    • @sherryy1743
      @sherryy1743 5 лет назад +3

      I wouldn't have noticed that if I hadn't read this first. And, why not...you talk about Avery Elle all the time...it's a natural thing to do. But, I might have to find some of those Avery removable sheets.
      I like all of the tools you covered, but I think the Teflon Bone Folder is my favorite. It does a great job of scoring all types of card stock, but what I like best is that it doesn't leave a "shine" on your paper when you use to to press down the fold.

      A tool that I could not be without in my craft room is a pair of cross lock tweezers, for holding onto things like pieces of paper whilst melting embossing powder. It allows you to hold it without losing grip of the paper, or having your hand cramp up if you hold it too long.

      My husband, as do I, thinks the stamping platforms are THE most clever stamping tools ever made. I like my Teflon bone folder, too. Sharp scissors are a must. I've built up an arsenal of really good sharp instruments over the years.

    My husband bought the hand vac for me for Christmas. How did I manage all my years without it? It is powerful enough to pickup dog (Shetland Sheepdog) hair like a dream. The ability to disassemble it and wash it with water gives it a gold medal in my book. Bonus: It is quiet enough that it doesn't scare my dogs and they LOVE when I vacuum their shedding hair right off of them. This is your best ever Favorite Items!!!!!

    🎄 TY Jennifer...you're the BEST!!! Merry Christmas!!! 🎄
    One thing I use that I don't think I've ever heard anyone talk about is just a wet wash cloth to clean my stamps. It is good for dye and pigment ink on rubber and acrylic stamps, and removes all the ink effortlessly. I have used this method for about 30 years and wouldn't change. Stamp cleaner for dye and pigment is such an expense and is very unnecessary. And they're washable!!! 💕

    So thank you Jennifer for the crazy amount of time I’m sure it takes to produce even one of these videos. I have to also add that I’m so grateful you don’t use a lot of “ahs” and such as you speak. To cover so much information your enunciation makes you so easy to listen to !!!

    I have the majority of the tools you've mentioned and love them all! The pen blades are the only ones I don't care for but I believe that's because of how I hold them...I tend to push the release button as I'm cutting with it. Oops! They are very sharp though and are so nice to use when I manage to keep the blade out. Thanks for sharing!!

    Your hubs invented Glad Press' Seal?? Wow! I use that every single day to cover the ceramic plates I use as palettes for watercolor! It not only keeps the paint from drying out so quickly, but saves it from kitty hair. I've shared that tip with my watercolor class and now they use it too. Thanks for this tip series, it's always appreciated, and thank your hubby for creating such a handy and multi-use product! May God bless you this Christmas and the coming years! 🎨💜

    I am very proud of myself. I didn’t stop the video once to go buy something. With that said I do have quite a few of them because of prior videos. My favorite must have tools are my scoring board and my Teflon bone folder. My other bone folders scored and creased my card stock great but what I didn’t like is that it would leave a sheen on the card stock when I would reinforce the crease. Most people would probably not even noticed but it drove me nuts! Thanks for sharing your favorite crafty things. I have found them very informative and I look forward to them each year.

    I’ve used several jewel pickers but my favorite by far is the crystal katana tool, the two ends are great & i used a hobby lobby coupon to save money, its in the jewelry section next to those magical triangle rhinestone trays

    • @jennifermcguireink

    • @mawmawvee
      @mawmawvee 5 лет назад

      If the Jewel Picker is the slender one with the fine and medium tips, I like it best of all. I haven't had time to watch this whole video yet, but am watching it in sections, so I'll see what you mean. My Katana was put together in a shoddy manner and not worth the huge price and the place where I got it wasn't interested in replacing it. I don't need bling on my tools. What I look for is how well it works and is put together.

    The triangle trays were originally for beads so you can get them in the jewelry aisle of big box stores or at local jewelry stores. Just in case you only want them and don’t want to pay for shipping from a Boutique store. Tho I highly recommend studio Katia.

      I have a mini Misti and much prefer the original one. The mini is too small for me.

      Artsncrafts By Damaris I originally purchased the big honking size Misti. It had a faulty hinge on it so when I returned it I got the original size and have been very happy with it

    First I want to say thank you for taking the time and effort to make these fantastic informative videos! I always enjoy them. But I get sad when I see you only recommend the Misti as a positionable stamping tool. It is as you say, very expensive. The Tim Holtz stamping platform is excellent and you can get it for less than half the price of a Misti. That alone would recommend the Tim Holtz tool rather than the Misti. And there are other great inexpensive stamping platforms too. I use the Tim Holtz platform and it is excellent!
    Another tip of ra tool to use to get rid of stains is the Faber Castell Eraser stick, it is shaped like a pencil, but instead of a lead there is a kind of stiff eraser one can shape into a very pointy end and erase with, it even works for watercolor on (dry!!) watercolor paper and I use it all the time when stamping since I am very clumsy and get inksplotches all over!

      MISTI is my favorite, that is why I included it :) I have used it from the beginning, and it works wonderfully for me. Not sure the platform can be sold in the US? But I am SO glad you like what you have! This video is about me sharing what I find best for me :)

    Thank you for showing how to use the stamp positioner tool. Someone gave me one but I never really understood how to use it. I eventually got the Misti also but even that gives me problems sometimes. I can't always get an even result with it. It's like I need an extra piece of foam under my paper for the whole image to stamp clearly.

      i was using a bar magnet I bought from Amazon with my Misti-type stamping tool and having a terrible problem. At a crop somebody pointed out that that bar magnet is too thick and prevents the stamp from contacting the paper. Maybe that's your problem?

      It seems like a lot of MISTI users do use foam to get a good impression. I think it depends on the kind of stamps being used.

    Because of arthritis, I had quit stamping until the MIsti.

    Thank you so much for taking the time and effort to make your Crafty Things videos. I look forward to checking out your favorites which often become my favorites. By far my favorite is the Press and Seal.....several years ago broke my wrist and fractured my knee cap....worked wonders at covering all of that and allowing me to shower. Please pass my thanks on to your husband for inventing it. Hope ya'll have a very Merry and safe Christmas and Happy New Year. Thanks for all you do. Oops forgot a question. On the Misti Mouse Pad does it replace the foam pad that comes with the Misit? Thanks.

    Your husband invented Press 'n Seal? Give him a great big thanks from me. I used it after my knee repacement, to cover my incision so I could shower. Then when I broke my wrist I used it to cover that so I coukd shower! It is magical stuff!
