Which type of subwoofer are you connecting? Active or passive? If active I have in the sub Line IN and Line OUT, I just have to connect Line IN to the pre-amp SUB? If passive subwoofer, do I need another little ampli for sub only?
I have a Bose Acoustimass 10 and there is a plug for Subwoofer Low Frequency Effects - my Yamaha receiver seems to not identify the Subwoorfer as LFE compatible - do you know if my RX-V673 and RX-V4A are compatible for the Bose Acoustimass 10 LFE plug? Thanks.
ok but how would you connect a wired sub to the pre out port? Can a banana clip work for that? I've had the Yamaha system for 10+ yrs and I am upgrading my receiver but as mentioned the sub connection isn't wired but pre out.
yo i have a the exact same setup, the 5 speaker but i got an extra big speaker which has, FR-FL and its not a sub. so can i add 2 speaker in one connector?
subwoofers are typically sold “active” (independently powered) because they’re the most power hungry speaker in your setup. Worse case when they’re playing some deep extended bass it can dull your main speakers by drawing a lot of power.
So as luck would have it, I actually **WAS** doing my speaker wiring right! Twist the cable, slide it into the port and screw the whole thing back in to hold the able. I, of course, had music playing so that I could hear music as soon as a connection was successful! The only issue was painstakingly using scissors instead of the proper tool for stripping wires. (4 accidental snips, 2" lost.)
The Receiver Will Receive The Sound And Then Amplify That Sound But For You To Hear That Sound You Need To Connect Speaker's For You To Hear That Sound I Am Currently Repairing my Entire Sound System When You Connect Speaker' Wire you To The Amplifier Be Sure To Connect Speaker's In The Same Order ❤
Bro it’s not working properly why?? Once played this Surround Right And Left And Surround Back Right And Left all signals Coming from Front Left and Right Both Tower Speakers. The Sid Surround Left And Right And Back Surround Left And Right all signals going to Front Tower Speakers. But the Canter Channel is works fine on Right signals. My connection is correct from the Receiver at Speaker terminal. Also I tested from my Receiver when I test that’s working fine everything on Right signals. But when I try to play on test videos from RUclips that time all Surround signals going to trough to the front Tower Speaker. What’s wrong??? I’m using the System is HTDDW8600 7.4 Channel System. It’s called Sony Super Muteki

Thank you so much for explaining wiring. I have the banana clips, but don't know how to use them. Maybe there is a video on that too.
Thanks from Italy!

I would put thicker cables and the subwofer between the two front 😊
From my understanding, subs are best utilized in corners of the room. And yes, thicker wires are almost certainly better for most audio setups.

If you have a subwoofer, where would you connect it?

Does the receiver play sound itself or do you have to connect speakers?
You absolutely need speakers. This unit is just to amplify the sound, it does not make any sound by itself.
This comment made me feel much more competent 😂
