    Gentlemen, I know exactly what this part is. It's the part of the blend door that connects to the actuator. It can be repaired without removing the entire dash, if you don't mind scraping your knuckles and spending 4-6 hours. Head over to the RUclips channel "Motors and Mischief" The video you want is "Ford F150 Recirc/Fresh Air Door Repair - WITHOUT Removing the Dash!!" Let Uncle Jake and Dr. Torq show you the way.

      No problem 😅 I assume that parts in not needed …
      You gotta love FORDS and all kind of issues ….
      Just replaced turbos and exhaust manifold on my ecoboost

    I believe that part is part of the dual airconditioner and heating controller on some f150 that have that feature. Check to see if your dual temperature control works properly on both sides and can be controlled by drivers side only.

      I was trying to figure this out with parts guy and mechanic at local Ford and no luck…

    When I looked this up online other people who had the same problem had a different cause:from me: debris or a broken piece that fell off the fan. Mine does not have debris nor is it broken.

    I have a 2013 F-150 FX4 truck & had the same problem. When I took the blower motor off I had the same rubber cap thing sitting in the blower motor cage just like you did. If I hadn't have watched your video I probably wouldn't have reinstalled the old blower motor & would have spent the money on a new one. I put the old one back in & it works just fine now so thanks so much for saving me some money bro cheers! BTW: Besides having to become a contortionist in order to get that freekin blower motor out & back in from under & behind the glove box, that back screw was a little bitch to get a wrench on!!!!

    Good video! My blower motor is ok now but I am going to make a note of your video. I have a 2013 F 150 3.5 ecoboost with 106,000 miles that runs good.. but i noticed you mentioned that you replaced the turbos and exhaust manifolds already. Could you tell me why that failed or do you have a video that explains it?

    • @MotorHead963
      @MotorHead963  Год назад +1

      No I didn’t make video yet
      In turbos we’re leaking oil so I replace them and manifolds had broken studs and had air leak and making loud noise… very common things due to bad design … and last week I replaced valve cover gasket due to oil leak

  • @bort617

    I'm pretty sure that piece is what actuates the recirculation feature. Without it, you're either always air from inside or vice versa.

    • @MotorHead963
      @MotorHead963  Год назад

      Possible, o went to the dealer to get that part and replace but they had no clue what it is

    • @bort617
      @bort617 Год назад

      I think it's part of the flap that electronically opens and closes the passage of air. You need to take the whole dash apart to replace it.

    • @DoubleTap702
      @DoubleTap702 Год назад +1

      Ya that’s for your recirculation. So yours is likely stuck on fresh air

    I replaced today the blower of my Ford F-150 2014. I got the same piece and i tried to figured out where does it come from and finally I had discovered it. Is from an inside that control to open and close a window to avoid enter air from outside, without that part the air inside the cabin can't recirculated and odors can come inside, I hold that part with a cable tie to avoid moving it

      @@MotorHead963 Thank you very much, I had exactly the same problem, only now the fan is disconnected intermittently, I don't know if I connected something wrong or if it is the terminal that is failing. But the vibration was eliminated

    Its true is found the same rubber piece in my friend motor.
    The rubber piece is a counter balancer.
    I found that Ford changed it and put a piece of metal on the cage to replace the rubber one..
    All done it worked out.

    By the time they start having problems with Chevrolet trucks it’s time for a new one because it’s already wore out. That’s why there’s so many videos of fiction Fords because they don’t wear out.
