I've been doing this since the beginning of 2024r, some cheat days of course in the years span, and I lost 55 lbs. last year. Went from 280 to 225 lbs.

I accidentally started this at the beginning of 2023 after returning from a trip late on a sunday and not feeling up to preparing my lunches for the work week. I basically just got used to it with my job that can easily keep me focused solely on work for 10-12 hours straight. on the weekends I may have a breakfast or a late lunch, but have pretty much been on the one meal schedule for just about 2 years and has worked very well for me

I did this and managed to almost immediately (2 months) drop 30 lbs. Not changing my diet but only eating when I was hungry. Which ended up to 1 meal per day

no other hunger? side effects? malnutrition?

Not the guy but I have only positive side effects from eating only one meal a day. My brain works significantly better, I feel significantly better in general, I don't overeat and I have more energy. The benefits of fasting are well established.

I dont gym, so I'll actually gain weight eating this way if I'm not careful. When I was gyming every day, I needed more calories, so I had a second meal and/or a protein shake with yogurt.

@@strangegardener how long did it take for you to lose the desire to eat more than one meal a day?
Every day I dread my first meal because it means my focus will start weaning from working/productivity to struggle focusing

@@wby5491 well luckily I was never a breakfast guy and that’s where I see a lot of people get hung up. I never ate before noon really. That made combining afternoon and evening meals way easier. If you’re a three meal person, cut out breakfast or anything before noon. Once you get used to hunger before noon you really don’t feel it anymore and makes afternoon hunger very, very doable because of the positive mental and physical energy benefits. If you are feeling difficulty concentrating between meals after reasonably adjusting to an IF schedule (week or 2) it’s likely you have more serious nutrient deficiencies or something like that imo. Eat GOOD and big once a day staying within healthy deficits if applicable or at recommended calories if not and you shouldn’t really be having issues. Maybe need to focus on electrolyte intake as well when fasting

@@wby5491 TLDR give your body what it needs in one meal and you don’t have to worry about anything else really. Enjoy your free time. Everything else is psychological
