Thank you so much for this post. My wife and I are from Georgia and will be taking this cruise in March. We are making the voyage from Hong Kong to Singapore. Would you please share information about currency, acceptance of credit cards, and transportation (taxis, etc,) in each country.
Hi, we are taking the same cruise on 3/15/2024. We were suggested to stay overnite in Bangkok, as it is far from the terminal. Is it what was suggested to you?
We do not plan to stay in Bangkok overnight. We have book two tours there but are considering dropping one of them because of the driving distance. @@humangoodness
Hi, we used a credit card everywhere we went, but the tour guides said they will accept US dollars in all of the countries we visited. In Singapore, I used an ATM to get their dollars, but ended up just exchanging back to US dollars on the ship. I hope you have as much fun as we did! Good luck!
In Singapore we used a taxi to get from the airport to our hotel, and also to the cruise port. To get around the city we used the MRT. There's an app you can download called Singapore Metro. In Thailand and Vietnam we took tour buses off the ship. And in Hong Kong, we took an excursion off the ship that later dropped us at the airport. Celebrity will sometimes offer discounts on their excusions. We got 40% off on a sale during Labor Day weekend.
Great to see you had a good time. Our cruise is Dec 9-21, 2024 going from Hong Kong to Singapore. Did you take the excursions from the ship or you went on your own?
NO Celebrity did not handle the Visa. We did ours on the Vietnam govt site which was 25.00 each. There are many other sites that you can get them from but they are alot more expensive. Be careful to fill out correctly as some passengers I spoke to on our cruise had problems with their visa's due to errors and could not get off ship freely. They had to go in their own group. One passenger stated to us, she could not get off ship at all in Vietnam because of errors made when filling it out.
Celebrity sent us an email about 30-days before our cruise with the Vietnam cruise port names to use on our application. This website only charges $25 per e-visa... evisa.xuatnhapcanh.gov.vn/web/guest/khai-thi-thuc-dien-tu/cap-thi-thuc-dien-tu You have to surrender your passport when you get on the ship. Then, in your first Vietnam port you will get a landing card that will be stamped by a Vietnam officer when you leave the ship. You will then turn in your landing card when you board the ship at your last Vietnam port. Our passports were also stamped in Thailand and returned to us on our last sea day. I hope you have as much fun as we did!
@@danlash3 Hi Dan, I’m planning to take this same cruise from Hong Kong to Singapore in 12/2024. I’m using US Passport. Is a Vietnam Visa required to get off the ship and go into the city ? Or a US Passport is good enough? Did the Vietnam officer ask for a Vietnam Visa? Please clarify about “You have to surrender your passport when you get on the ship..” Is this means the ship will keep your Passport for the whole time you’re with the cruise, and only return back to you at the end of the cruise? Thank you for your reply.

We took all excursions from the ship. I know some tours might be cheaper but we didn't want to get stranded anywhere and not make it back to the ship.
Did celebrity handle the visa of Vietnam? How much they charge?

When applying for the visa, we have option for one entry for $25 or multiple entry for $50. Do we choose $25 or $50?
@@humangoodness single entry. We are doing this exact on in November!
