This was by far one of your best videos yet. My wife and I did this trip two years ago that area is called the romantic Rhine absolutely gorgeous. And the food my God I’m hungry now, can’t wait to eat German food again. One thing I noticed that blue wall in your house, what a great idea. Could you do a short video of that wall please? Again I absolutely enjoyed this video it brought back a lot of memories for us thank you.

Thank you! We had such a good time!
The blue wall was lockers we have in the house. We have magnets from everywhere covering it 🙂

Such a great trip. I grew up on the Rhine and NEVER did a cruise (stupid me). 1:15 the statue is called the Niederwalddenkmal. The statue is called the Germania (a personification of Germany)

You were on the trails of the Rheingold under the watchful eyes of the Loreley ;-) Beautiful part of my homeland! I hope you enjoyed the boat trip!

I lived there until four weeks ago and had to leave to a big city for a better job. Now I am homesick.
Rüdesheim: Visit Drosselgasse, go up the hill with the cable car to the monument celebrating Germany's victory over France in 1871, then walk along the edge of the mountain across some more attractions to the hunting castle. From there, take another cable car down the hill to Assmannshausen. Have a glass of the local red wine there and a pizza at Pizzeria Romantica, best pizza place in the area. Take the boat or the train back to Rüdesheim. Better leave your car in Bingen and cross the river by ferry without the car.

Love that boat ride. We were there in May 2011 for our 50th Annv. Stayed in Bacharach for 3 nights at the Malerwinkel. Yes, Rudesheim is a fun little village to.

So you were on the nostalgic trail of Elvis Presley. ( See Movie G-I. Blues). He took a Rhine -Main cruise from Frankfurt to Rüdesheim. Then he helped out in a puppet-show (sang: wooden heart). and got up to Niederwald- Memorial with that cable-thing ) accompanied of course by a nice girl) Very romantic

    Great vlog!
So close ... But on the wrong side of the river. 😉
Living in a place often makes you forget how beautiful it is. Thanks for reminding me.
Yeah, Rüdesheim is very touristy. You'll find a lot of stores like Stefan's one there. There is a beautiful Christmas market, so maybe a visit in December. Or if you go now in summer maybe check out the Loreley. There is a toboggan run(?)which could be great for Calvin (and Travis).
And what a great end to a great day!

I have just loved this cruise. I went in 2004 July and it was so great. It was from Koblenz to St. Goar.

Which cruise line did you use? I wanna make sure we do the one with a slide on it if we can. Such fun for kids!

I'm honestly not sure. We just drove to Bingen and followed signs to Rhine River Cruise. I think it just depends on which boat you get on.
