It was only damaged during the first fight. It didn't keep getting damaged. It's a ghost ship... So what we see at the end of the second fight with the crew viewing the Christian is the damage that originally killed Dawson and his crew.
@@burningreach Oh wait, you thought I was talking about the song didn't you! No I meant this video in particular. When we get to the POV of the freighter, the ship shown in this video looks a lot more damaged than the ship did at the beginning.
I wouldn't say lost to time... ruclips.net/user/SongsfromtheStarssearch?query=dawson%27s%20christian in my opinion *St. Elmo's Fire* version is the best
sorry to disappoint, i actually made like 4 other lyric videos but uni got in the way of, me making art I'm actually proud of :') they're unlinked, but maybe someday they'll see the light of day
NEWS FLASH! Vic Tyler has a Bandcamp page with new recordings of this song - with others songs from Carmen Miranda's Ghost to come soon on Spotify. Can't insert the URL as RUclips will auto-delete the comment, but it's easy to find. ;-)
please feel free to put the url here, or message or email me at shyllelagh.mail@gmail.com! I'd be happy to put the url to the bandcamp anywhere ^^ If i'm not mistaken it is this?: victyler.bandcamp.com/album/dawsons-christian
@@shyllelaghYou bet! Tragically, Vic died a few months ago at a young age (59), so we only finished 1 song (and have 2 scratch tracks we'll put out in the next few months for anyone interested.)
@@elig9401 My deepest condolences, and all my love and heart to him, for he sparked the imaginations of countless folk and lit a love of art and science in more
I have always believed that Vic Tyler recorded this song, as well as a few others. I have searced since the mid-s for other works by Vic Tyler, as well as information about him. Now you say it is Dominic Bridwell? But I have a CD that I bought, Carmen Miranda's Ghost, that also lists Vic Tyler as the singer. I have tried to get in touch with Leslie Fish to gleen information on Vic Tyler but to no avail. So, now I'll look for Domnic Bridwell. Still wondering why the CD listed Tyler as the performer.
FYI, it is Vic Tyler who sung this, not Dominic. Leslie's memory can be off at times. Vic lives in Seattle now. I'm hoping he can record more filk this year!
Explain to me why when people make these videos they mess up the tempo and change words the lyrics are "the tale that makes my blood run cold" not "chills my spirit"
i love the small detail of the Christian slowly becoming more damaged over the course of the song! very good editing and art!

@@burningreach When I say damaged, I meant progressively turning into a derelict, not actual damage being sustained to it.

Thank you for bringing up this lost in time masterpiece

Thank you, darling, for putting the lyrics out; I wanted to remember all of it, even when no music can be heard except inside my head.

When were flying amonst the darkness of space, I swear and promise I will be someone's Jayme Dawson.

Such a good song and great art to fit.
Wonderful. Thanks a lot.

The liner notes are correct - Leslie is just remembering wrong.

This isn't Vic's voice.
