Nara, Japan, is known for its historic temples and the presence of friendly, free-roaming deer, especially in Nara Park. Here in this video ate are some facts and tips about Nara and the deer feeding experience:
Tips in feeding the Deer
1. Shika Senbei crackers-Visitors can buy special deer crackers, called shika senbei, to feed the deer. These crackers are sold by vendors throughout the park and are made specifically for the deer.
2. Bowing Behavior- It is unique that the Nara deer have a tendency to bow to visitors before because it will be difficult fed. This has developed over time as the deer have learned that bowing often results in getting fed.
