- We are going to be using the Spider Farmer inline exhaust fan kits on all of out grows this season, and here is the unboxing and installation of the 6" fan in a 3'x3' tent that we will be growing in later in the year. We are using these fans currently in both the 4x4 and 2x2 tents, though the 2x2 is using the 4" version.

They do the job fine. Probably not as quiet as they claim but Ive gotten so used to fan noise that I cant sleep without it.
😁
Mines right next to my bed I couldn’t care less but it’s the noisey neighbours since I’m in the uk 4 plants which I have can get you 5yrs in jail yes u heard that correct so Noise/Smell are a massive factor for me
It is exactly the same set as from Mars Hydro. Both produced in Shenzen, only the colors and label are different. Even the controller and the connections are exactly the same
I have wondered for a while if Mars and Spider are really the same company, just shipping slightly different products =)
Why would you punch holes through the tent to mount the controller? That seems like a good way to create light/air leaks.
Gorilla tape 🎉 or Lanyard 🎉
@@DopamineKoalavelcro
Magnet & little metal plate, but i'd deny any leaks in his uncreative way 🤷🏻♂️
Come on spider farmer!!!
The user shouldn’t have to rig up the controller like that. Should be apart if your design. Come on spider farmer get it together!
They have added a hanger with their new tents, I just haven't had a chance to check it out yet =)
Great review brudda, so happy to see spiderfarmer step their game up on the accessories
For sure, I am excited to see how these fans do over the next set of grows =)
Kick ass setup. I screwed my controller thing to the wall beside my tent
That is also a good option :)
I got the 4 inch. I definitely going to upgrade to the 6 inch...... someday.
We have the four inch on the 2x2 tent and it is working out pretty well so far :)
Nice inline fan guys that should get rid of all the old air
They seem to be working well so far =)
It would be nice to hear how they workout. Thanks again
I will most likely have an end of grow update :)
For fan controller mounting just use velcro tape. that should do the job and is easily removeable
I would not support anything spider farmer.Greetings from Spider Farmer.
Sorry, our tent does not have a warranty, so we cannot accept your request.
You can seal it with tape on top and open the window from below.
If you have any further questions in the future, please feel free to contact us any time and we will be happy to assist you.
Have a nice day!
Best Regards
I contacted spider farmer within 30 days of purchase they don't stand behind their products
Ouch, I am sorry to hear that happened to you =(
I wonder if you could replace the block of wood with some oversized flat washers and nuts on the back. Love your videos! Keep up the great work.
You can do all kinds of things really, I just had that laying around.
Sticky back Velcro!
I bought it, set it up and used for two hrs before I decided to go with the AC Infinity, the ac actually does a great job monitoring, spider farmer is no more than a glorified on off, it doesn’t actively monitor the garden and control the environment, the display does nothing other than to tell you temp and humidity, which if it can tell u that it should be able to truth fan from 1 to 5 to control either or
Don’t waste your time or money, get the AC Infinity
Thanks for the detailed input on this one, these are my favorite kinds of comments =) Admittedly, all of the AC Infinity controllers were the old ones, and I have not tried out the newer versions yet. As such, my experience with the AC Infinity controllers is very similar to the Spider Farmer ones in what they can and cannot do. Will definitely have to revisit at some point in the future =)
@@TheHippieGeeks thanks, I have been following your channel for quite a while, and love your super detailed follow along grow style, I have gained quite a bit from watching
I liked the price of the spider farmer, but in the end, what I needed was the full control, without going to a much more expensive setup
The ac will run at whatever speed u want and ramp up to whatever speed u want based on humidity or temp
That has got my system working flawlessly now
And the ability to add on other fans and control from one unit is spectacular
Yep, waist of time, funny no-one explains this, they just bang on about the controller, and like you say its just a F,,,,,ing glorified on off switch. NOT a controller
@@fabmatt2258 Hi. With spider farmer you can do that. You set the maximum speed of extractor fan, say to 5 (when controller is in the on or off section if my memory is correct. then you go to the section on controller for temperature or humidity and choose high humidity for example and set it to say 65 RH. Whenever grow tent reaches 65 RH, the extractor fan starts. For me it is the high humidity I try to control, others could be the low humidity or temperatures high or low. Now what AC infinity does is that you can connect a fan as well to the controller I think.
I'd love to see a video where you actually set up trigger points and run this smart controller. Currently having issues getting fan to exhaust at high temp trigger and turn off at low temp.
We are actually going to have that exact video finally in the new year as we just got a delivery of a new one from Spider Farmer =)
Enjoying mine so far. Sucks they don’t have the carbon filter for sale on it’s own. At least I couldn’t find it and you’d think they would for replacement 🤷🏼♂️
Amazon has a no name 4 inch filter...I think it was 34 dollars each.
Yeah, it is a little weird that there isn't a standalone for them.
@@joecaldwell3080 I bought a no name one, works just the same so doesn’t matter to me lol.
It’s kind of funny how the controllers are almost identical to AC Infinity’s design lol, just different types of cord.
Yeah, they are similar for sure :)
I use sticky back Velcro to stick my controller box!
Have you had problems with the sticky back giving up though? With as warm as the tents can get, I could see it causing issues with the sticky velcro.
Awesome presentation and information !!
Great product THG 👌
Thanks for taking the time to watch the video :)
@@TheHippieGeeks 👍😎👍
hey,
my plan is to get the SE3000 light 300W (70x70) and a 70x70x180 tent. For ventilation I thought about getting the 6 inch 402 cfm kit.
The only part Im struggling with is noise since Im forced to put it in my bedroom.
Will it be fine with that setup or should i switch to AC Infinitys 60x60x180 setup?
AC would be the CLOUDLINE LITE A4 - Inline-Ventilator 165 cfm and 100W 60x60 lights.
Price wise the 100W 60x60 AC setup is 690 euros and Spiderfarmer 300W 70x70 is 640 euros.
Which one would you recommend or are both setups kinda bad for a bedroom?
Thanks in advance!
Both setups will be fine in a bedroom, as you will likely not want to use the fan on full blast anyways. I find that settings between 1-5 are usually enough air being moved, and they are pretty quiet at those speeds. As for the lights, the Spider Farmer is going to be more versatile, as you are getting a 300 watt light versus the 100w light in the AC setup.
It would be great if spider farmer would just add a slot on the outside of the tent to hold the controller like other companies. If you have an in with the co would be a good suggestion.
I don't really have too much of an in with them, but I will recommend it to my contact :)
Thanks for your interest. We've added this design to most of our tents
@@TheHippieGeeks You see you have more stroke than you thought.😄
@@SpiderFarmeryou absolutely did, also the nice velco to hold the outside door.... Sf stepping up their game
Cheers@@Parialated
good value option ..nice one 😎
Thanks for watching another one :)
Wow I wish I would have seen this first
Great review as always
Thanks man!
arrived yesterday, looking for your vid to set it up
Another great video. Do you have any videos on cleaning and maintenance of your tents between grows? Haven't come across any yet . But still going through your older videos
You know, I actually have not done a video like that! I will make sure to put one together at the end of the next series that ends, probably the Autoflower grow that we are starting up next week. Thanks for the idea!
@@TheHippieGeeks that's brilliant look forward to seeing the next series and the process you go through for clean up.
Can you make a step by step on how to use this controller. Everything i have seen so far is so confusing. It would be appreciated.
Are the spider farmer in-line fans and controllers as good as the AC Infinity ones? Just curious if there are any differences…
Very good question 🤔
I am not going to be able to say until I get a couple of runs in. I have been using one of them for the last 6 months in a project that is not on the channel, and it has been working just as well as the AC Infinity fans have been. I will definitely have to revisit this again when the current grows finish out.
I have had 2 spider farmer inline fans going nonstop for close to a year. They work great.
@@joecaldwell3080are they not all the same together with Vevor?
So, does the fan suck? Glad u didn't use the word review in the title.
Video yg sangat menarik
Terima kasih telah meluangkan waktu untuk menontonnya!
Am i missing something...why would you need a charcoal filter on a exhaust fan...shouldnt it be on the intake fan or over the intake port.....
The intent is to remove the smell of the cannabis from the grow tent before it hits the room that it is in. It can get a bit overwhelming when you are solidly in flower =)
@@TheHippieGeeks OK....that makes sense...I guess if you live in a illegal to grow state or apt....I live in SoCal...I like my house smelling like fresh flowers....right now i have a photo ...3 1/2 weeks into flower....just starting to get those terps going....better than incense....420
@@TheHippieGeeks does it filter the smell good ? I have the same setup but my plants don't flower yet
What is the actual length of the *carbon filter?* Most filters are at least 12 inches long. But I believe this filter is less than 12 inches long. Is this true?
Can i just use the spider farm ventilations in a Gorrila growing tent?
Yes indeed! It should work out great.
I'd like to see hardware teardowns of all the major fan brands, including the higher end stuff, all the way down to tearing the motors inside of them apart to see if they are crap or not. I can give you a hint already - AC Infinity's fans have piece of shit chinesium motors in them. Check out the Revolution Fans, and try to get a hold of some EBMPabst ones as well.
That could be interesting for sure! Will have to see if that is something I can swing in the future :)
Basically what I expect when reviewing such products other then all the rings and the bells. I bought this setup actually (didnt get it yet) but I'm not expecting anything else than Chinese. Couldn't find better in EU for the same price.
I use magnet strip instead of drilling tent:)
Ahhhh, that is a great idea!
I've never installed a house AC system or whatever so I don't know what this ducting hose is or how to cut it or secure it on to the inline fan.
The kit comes with the ducting and clamps, which is enough to get going.
I can’t get my sensor to show temp ect on screen any help?
That is a bit of a weird one, make sure that you have the sensor plugged into the correct port and that none of the pins are bent, as those could be issues. You may also have a non functional sensor as that can happen in rare circumstances.
It's the same fan as the vivison, ipower all the same..
Why not explain how the controller controls nothing? Its a waist of time and money if you are wanting a fan to control temp and humidity.
Except it does control the fan in relation to both heat and humidity? Not sure where you are getting the idea that it doesn't. We are running them on 5 tents, and all are functioning as expected, controlled for both heat and humidity.
@@TheHippieGeeks so are you running 2 fans, 1 that continuously circulating the air and this SF fan to come on to control heat?
I am not sure what you are asking here. On the fan controller, it is set to come on when the temperature hits a certain point, and also when the humidity hits a certain point. Once those conditions are corrected, the fan shuts back off.
I sure hope it does suck lol cheers fam 👊
At least a little bit =D
NICE MEM 💯😵😵😵🍀
Thank you for taking the time to watch the video :)
It sucks and blows!!!
That is what I say about my second wife never about the first tho !
Does the Controller only shows the temp and humidity or is it also able to influence it, like for example increase the humidity?
Sorry my english is not the best, i hope you understand what i mean.
No, for that you would need to use a humidifier to increase the humidity. What an exhaust fan does is to help stabilize the environment inside of the tent and outside of the tent.
@@TheHippieGeeks okay thank you very much. I have another question, how good is the smell neutralization with the 6 inch version? I have a one square meter tent, 2m high with 5 Plants.
