Hello,You make it look so easy.It's my first time with this product.I'm refinishing my guitar and tried using a brush and a foam brush.Did not turn out very good.Had runs and drips.I like the plastic squeeze bottle but how to you mix it in the little bottle.They say not to shake it because you will get bubbles. Have you ever tried using cheese cloth to apply it.Thanks.
Thank you, I think it is pretty easy to use but it may take a bit to get used to. This is a older video, try watching this newer one. It might address some of your concerns. The softer the brush the easier it will be to apply and you will get less friction, lines. If you’re getting drips, you might be applying a little too thick. I also did a custom guitar and I think the whole process, including the top coat is in that video. Watching that one might help as well. Feel free to reach out via email if you need more help.
The number of layers is really a preference since each layer builds the gloss level. Since my paint is really level/even, I typically only do between 3 and 5 layers. Before I changed my bloom recipe, I had a lot of uneven paint and would use more than 5 layers trying to get a smooth surface. Cure time is 7 days light use and full cure after 30 days.

Hi! Can I ask what you are using it on? I’m only using it on hard surfaces like metal or glass and ceramic. But I have found it is best to continue using BRITE tone for coasters and canvases. To understand why you’re getting bubbles, can you share your process details with me? Like are you using GF 1.0 or 2.0? Are you adding an extender? Are you warming it up prior to using? Thick or thin layers? Applying with finger or brush? Temp and humidity of your space? From everything I’ve learned about GF it is more sensitive to your conditions, etc. I can offer some help based on your details.

And am using 2.0 I have tried all the above Warmed it Put a space heater in the area Humidity has been around 60 Applied with finger, brush and whole hand Wet my hand first Heated up the coasters to room temp Tried thin layer and tried thicker layer. Thinned the GF with a little water The bubbles are instant and do not dissipate while drying. I thought I was over working at first so changed that.
Sorry, I didn’t get notified when you replied. GF is definitely a lot more sensitive to use than BT is. I love Crystalac products but I’m an engineer and I always refrain from jumping all in on a new product. I’m glad I did because I see a lot of people struggling with it and then they came out with 2.0. I have 1.0 and haven’t had any issues but have only used it a few times. I use an extender, which gives a little more work time. From what I know, the bubbles are from over working and because it’s drying too fast. I know you said you addressed overworking it. I have never had any issues with BT but I keep my house around 70. I know they suggested slightly warming it and your surface before applying. I see a lot of folks using their fingers to apply. I have always used a soft brush slightly moist. Are you shaking it before applying? I think you’re supposed to shake 1.0 but not 2.0. Let me know your thoughts and if you have tried all of these countermeasures. We can go from there!

You cannot use a heat gun or torch on Brite Tone.

No, unfortunately I don’t know too many products that would allow that.
