Well if you watch the series it proves this was in fact a good idea. Treat people like human beings and expect a functional society to come out of it. Good job sheriff! 👏🏻

I binged the series and I was ugly happy crying. I can’t imagine being locked in a room for 23 hours and only 1 hour of free time.
It’s only the beginning because they have to build from scratch, a complete 180. The first episode an inmate mentioned that they wanted classes or opportunities to build for when they get out and the Sheriff respect to reassure him that’s his plan for the future.
Those men can certainly request what services they wish to have access to.
Just imagine trade education, support systems, personal growth. They don’t have a discharge plan at all but that should change.

This sheriff is spot on. My daughter is a sgt. at our county jail. Being locked up 23 hours a day will make anyone go insane. What would happen to a dog if you locked it in a closet for that same amount of time? It’s going to get bored , frustrated, aggravated, aggressive, mean, and the list goes on.
It’s not a safe and healthy environment for anyone.
Kudos to this sheriff! The jails need more like him. 🙏🏼

If a dog were locked away for 23 hours a day, it would be considered animal abuse. It's disgusting that we can't do it to dogs, but then turn around and deem it acceptable for humans.

Loved this series that I binged over a couple days. Sheriff had a great idea & it worked (eventually)
I want MORE of this series & hope other units everywhere get to try this, too.
You can’t cage a human 23 hours a day, 7 days a week and expect reform!

Well done Sheriff. You look like Albert Einstein compared to the judge in this video.

The production crew paid the county $60,000 and the county refused to accept the payment.

Ofcourse the municipalities not going to like seeing criminals being reformed. As if they offered any viable solutions before.

This was a great idea, sheriff. Kudos to you for pushing forward. The prison needs to be reformed and this was a great idea. Inmates engaged the problem solving and leaders emerged. Would love to see some of the men in these facilities taking via zoom with others on the outside. They too have the possibility of being saved.

There’s a big difference between having the authority to allow a camera crew into a prison, and having the authority to gamify and trivialize incarceration.

The ending was such BS. Everyone of those guys (inmates) are going to go right back in jail.
It was so obvious they were being fed lines by producers. The climax at the end where the big reveal was them getting to have doors open was so scripted.
    It WAS entertaining, though.

You are a Parasite 🦠 to Humanity!!! Why do you even write that!!! Sheriff Higgins is a True hero, a Mentor, an Example!!! Others need to learn from him!!! This Documentary is Fantastic!!! Sheriffs run the jails, Sulfux County jail in Boston Massachusettes needs to be investigated, the Inmates are abused Mentally, Bullied and Prostitution is taking place with Inmates!! Great job Sheriff Higgins, you are a (True Story)!
