@firstdaddy I am an anaesthetist and so use the machines each day. Dead space is only from the Y-piece of the circuit to the end of the et tube. I am sure your cbmet is good for something but I have used both machines on patients and find the GE superior and I don't have to speak German to talk to the sales representatives.

    My Congratulations on the video.
I am Brazilian, Mechatronics Technician and am studying about Anesthesia Devices, only I'm having a lot in difilculdades find study materials, ie, the operating principle. Example: As the oxygen out of the Rotameter, passes through the vaporizer and then goes to the patient. As is the lime soda process? As the process of rebreathing? How it works in the Fan in the process?
Your video is very good, because the viewing I get it a bit, my difficulty is the language, because my knowledge in English is very little.
    Will u help me? Please.

@firstdaddy I think we conclusively proved in the years 1939-1945 that American engineering is superior to German engineering. Hence the reason that five times as many GE units as Drager units are sold.

@davedidashit They sell more because hospitals are cheap and do not buy the best. The hospital's primary goal is to make money, not provide the highest level of care. The bellows design on the Ohmeda/Datex units dates back to the eary 1910's. The Drager units use a servo control drive pluger that meters precisely the dial tidial volume has 1/10 the dead space and compliance. Plain and simple, The Ohmeda/Datex design is old and out dated junk. Know your facts before posting. Youre not a CBMET.

DRAGER IS THE BEST. The Fabius GS PREMIUM Beats this machine. Thats MY OPPENION. I mean, you have to press the flush valve when you swich to the ventilator mode otherwise, "UNABLE TO DRIVE BELLOWS," alarm. BEEP BEEP BEEP--BEEP BEEP. NOT GOOD.

Do your patients a favor and get a Drager anesthesia machine. Ohmeda/Datex are no where as good as the Drager. This is coming from an AAMI certified Clinical Engineer.
