On the standard total war pharaoh, I started a campaign with Amenmesse, and it is chaos. I had people from every direction start war with me, so I’m dealing with enemies from the south and the north. Then on top of that, every single one of my cities is full of sad miserable, ungrateful people. Who are now producing rebel armies. I’m constantly battling lack of food.. I feel like this faction is just horrible to start with. I’m not new to total war but it’s been a while since I’ve played it. But this game just feels impossible to me.
Im serious Costin. Get Cohortroys mod. It adds tier 5 native units (INCLUDING FALXMEN FOR THRACE) and makes ALL THE FACTIONS hes finished with feel much more balanced and complete imho. It even makes Seti feel playable.
I use a mod called Cohortroys units. With that Amenmesse feels like a god because of how many units it gives him. Try it. The Nubian Khopesh Raiders and Kushite Golden Axe Warriors are awesome. Facelost warriors give him a quick two handed club unit.
I still think the Amenmesse is easy S tier faction, the so called unit roster limitation are negligible due to bow power and native units, you can fight with eez 1 vs 2 armies, half of the enemy army won't even be able to get close and you deal with the second half using hammer and anvil

He is a mess? Got it!
Kinda wish his melee units are a bit better but Gold and his archers make up for it. I'm okay with that.
His melee units are fine. They hold well enough to have his archers do most of the killing for you.

@@joeyawiki3315 They do. I like using them as my flanking units since his spearmen with slings are really solid at holding the line.

What about choosing the Perseus leagacy if you unlock all leagacies
