THANK YOU ALL for watching my reactions to this AMAZING SHOW! I hope it's not the end, but if it is, I send so much gratitude to everyone who helped create this delightful escape for those of us who needed it. Love to you all! ♥ - Chachi
We are lucky we got 2 seasons. We are unlucky it got got cancelled but things are changing really fast in the entertainment industry. Thanks for everything, I really liked your commentary.
Headcanon time: Izzy is in the gravy basket and is guided out by Buttons (who also tells our boys to dig him up, ffs, lol). But he needs medicine, so that’s why they blockade Charleston harbor (which happened irl - Blackbeard blockaded the harbor for medical supplies). They save Izzy, but have to evade the English, so they plan a huge fuckery where Blackbeard gets shot and beheaded (which is again based on real life), and Stede is hanged (it’s actually Prince Ricky, though), and they all live happily ever after
I love that you finished this show! I enjoyed watching your reactions. I had a feeling that we were going to lose Izzy going into the finale, but I still cried when it happened. I’d love to have more shows about people in mid-life and older going on journeys of self-discovery, trying new things and finding themselves. Life continues to evolve past your teens and early twenties (as sweet as those stories are).
Really enjoyed your reactions. It's been ages since I've loved a show as much as this one so I've been watching a lot of reactors and yours has been the best, imo. 😊
this episode tears me apart so much! izzy shot on the left side when it's been established that people survive wounds on the left. izzy's hand getting tangled in ed's hair at the end.. captain frenchie!!!!!! jim wearing izzy's glove in the last scene.. buttons coming to the grave.. i still say there were so many things hinted to but not touched on that could give us a beautiful season 3 (seeing how archie/jim/olu/zheng would work out, fang and roach was hinted at in deleted scenes, frenchie and izzy always being paired up and frenchie was the only one not able to look at izzy as he died, the setup for zheng and the crew going after ricky). con has said izzy was preparing to give that ring he always wears to someone, that he'd never let himself fully fall in love but was going to. ed and stede building something together, ed being able to settle down after just going and going after so many years. i'll always love the show but it's always a hope there will be more, rhys kept saying he didn't want to leave stede yet so.. here's hoping! anyway now that i've written a big message, i adored your reaction as always and i hope you find the next show to fall in love with!! (i recommend sense8 even if you'd have to heavily edit around more mature themes for youtube) 💖
Trying to remember whether you've watched _Interview with the Vampire_ -- gay vampires! _First Kill_ too, although it only has one season and not so much a definitive ending. _Dead Boy Detectives. Sandman. Firefly. Fleabag._ Dash & Lily_ (only one season, proper ending, takes place over Christmas season). _Ripley_ (highly recommended). _Sense8_ (two seasons, maybe not a proper ending, LGBTQ). _Ghosts_ (UK first). _There She Goes_ (family with special needs daughter, two seasons and a wrap-up special, David Tennant), _The Newsreader_ (Sam Reid from _Interview with the Vampire_, Anna Torv from _Fringe_ and _The Last of Us). Staged_ (three seasons, starts during the pandemic, fictitious versions of Tennant and Michael Sheen attempt to rehearse a play over Zoom). _This Is Us. Vicious_ (Derek Jacobi and Ian McKellen play an old gay couple who are kind of mean). _Gentleman Jack_ (two seasons, based on the diaries of a Regency lesbian and gender nonconforming woman). _The Good Place_ (no spoilers).
Loved following you along on this journey! Agree the show did a lot with very little and had such great characters (Izzy with the best arc). You know Ed & Stede are gonna get bored, fight, burn the inn down and find their crew😂. Now, if you're looking for other amazing gay shows, highly recommend Interview with the Vampire. Best show on television at the moment. The acting is amazing. Definitely a lot more angst but just incredible to witness. Again thank you for the reactions and on to the next one!
I recently dreamed that they had renewed it 🥲 but tbh I might actually prefer it ending like this, because it is such a beautiful end and gives all of the characters a beautiful finished arc so I’d be scared it would not end as rounded with a third season. Thank you for taking us on this journey!!!!
It is the end. They wanted it to run for longer, they had more stories to tell and the creators fought hard for find someone else to pick it up after it was cancelled. But right now the creators wants the fans to come to terms with it being over. :( There is always that tiny hope as I do believe the show runners are still open to continue, but they don't want fans to get their hopes up.
I think Izzy was in love with Ed, Ed knew it, maybe they even had a (one sided) relationship before meeting Stede. Imagine that in front of Izzy's eyes, his beloved starts to build a real mutual relationship with another person. Obviously, he is annoyed by everything, blind with jealousy, he just wants to get rid of the "competitor". If you rewatch the first season with this in mind, you won't hate Izzy, you'll feel for him (besides, Ed isn't a sensitive enough person to resolve this triangle). In the second season, Izzy's love must have dulled and disappointed (no wonder - after all the torture and death threats), and it's easier for him to accept that Stede is really the right man for Ed
I'm fairly sure that show that renewed already and I'm fairly sure so did you know like fallout. I would also recommend shows if you haven't already watched them like Roswell New Mexico 2019 it is a good lgbtq representation type show. I don't see that show reviewed much I would really like to see people's reaction to it.. 911 Lonestar if you aren't already watching it awesome show. I'm all about shows that give you happy endings and good reputation representation it's a big plus if it ends in a wedding .. specifically gay weddings😅❤❤
I'm not a huge fan of how this show played out. I adored the first season. But I felt the second series got messy, and they threw too much at it as it went on. With some great moments (Calypso's birthday... ) I think the real story played out in a way that was definitely not happy, so they couldn't use that, and IDK maybe that's the issue. I think they won't get a third season because they haven't left it needing more. They could have made it a classic middle act and left it open, that might have worked to get a third season, the way it did with Good Omens.
I heard there were some that weren’t happy with how Season 2 turned out. I’m wondering if they had a feeling going into production for this season that HBO had little interest in going much further with the show which is why they ended things this way. I know very little about the actual story these characters are based on so I went in with no expectations. I guess that helped. Overall, I was satisfied because I grew to love each of these characters so so much 😊
@@ChachiSays Yeh it feels like they knew for sure. I am never a fan of these kinds of endings TBH, I love an open ending. I love characters to still be alive, and for the future to have all the possibilities, but left open. I think the best films end like that. It was just all a bit messy, the first series felt like they were really onto something. I also felt Blackbeard was so abusive in the second series it was hard to keep giving him a pass. I mean of course nothing like the real Blackbeard and Stede who were a lot more murdery. You should read up on them though as it's fascinating, there is a person on YT who does queer history and did a special on OFMD telling the real story. One thing I love is the drawing someone did of Stede at the time, it's very camp. Of course they all died very young, the show aged them all up a lot.

I agree! We have been getting some but I want more! 😅
Yes! I loved that they were mature men. So rare.

Oh, and _Killing Eve._
Oh, and _Blackpoole,_ if only for the tango.
Dead Boy Detectives would be a good one. It's very sweet.
OMG just in time! I legit just finished your reaction to 2x7
Love that! 😆

Never expected to hear you say, "Skin him slow too." :)
Yeah, use the snail fork, lol
If you haven't watched Shitt's Creek yet you should react to it. I think you would enjoy it.
