Season 2 wouldn’t make that much sense in terms of promotion because the game that would have to come out would either be GE4 or GE3 Burst. Both would be completely different in terms of story. The anime was made for the remake/ overhaul for the very first game. All that aside, I love the anime a lot. I own it on blu ray and have seen it 3 times already and I gotta say it absolutely elevates the story/ presentation from the game, so much so that I would rather have an anime of the entire game instead of going back to play it.
Lenka made for a fantastic protagonist. He felt pretty lived-in, as he never would take any action that would endanger his squad over himself. May he live long and prosper in the limbo between Season 1 and Season 2.
I've seen quite a number of people dump on this anime before but I was honestly mesmerized by it. I found that it perfectly encapsulated the first arc of the game through an actual main character and not a player avatar. It felt so raw and uncut by showing a truly gritty and hopeless world. And yet despite the constant bad hand Lenka was dealt throughout the anime, the man always managed to get back up through sheer will and determination. Not because of some shonen or friendship power up but because he just wanted to do what he never could and that was to protect people. His actions inspired the others to stand by him and it felt so earned whenever he was able to give courage to others even when he had seemingly lost so much of when things felt so hopeless. His tale was one of inspiration through failure and a genuine willingness to protect life so that the ones list before weren't in vain. I just wish the anime wasn't only made for promotional material. I honestly would pay for a full anime of the first game because it deserves it. This one and only season proves that

Like in the first episode he just volunteers and upright disregards orders so we can help people in need. Or that time he went to backup Lindow. That in the music helps make it even more badass
This anime(for me at least) is not genric because the now days generic is: Be op for no reason; Take power from the ass; Have a sad back story and having an sexy woman because of it; No cachacter evolution; Etc
I still wonder HOW THE HECK Bandai Namco ALWAYS hit the spot for God Eater's OST?. I still give a huge credit to the bands but the music is what always gets me on this franchise to keep coming back and desire more.

god eater has become one of my fav animes and tbh I haven't played the games but after watching the anime I'm buying the new one love the ost they add it makes it more awesome
When the first episode of this anime was out I fell in love with this OST and looked for it everywhere, but it was nowhere to be found at that time, I am glad I found it now :'>
I felt like this song is perfect for gritty Need For Speed games or Burnout games, where shits always on fire and there are tons of destruction on each races.

I love God Eater fr its characters, its story, its designe...but over everything...THE MUSIC. Glad the anime wasnt a let down, good op/ed and this kickass track right off the bat on episode one. Without menttion the tracks playing on almost every episode to setup the anime/game experience.

The only thing I hated from the anime is that they could basically one hit aragami with some exceptions. They could’ve showed us some teamfight action just like pita’s fight and that would be awesome. But what we got is still good for my opinion but if ever they make a sequel please make it more like a team take down. Also where’s the burst they get when they devour an aragami they also could’ve utilized that and develop a strategy to get devour attacks for every melee weapons.

It was clear from the start that they intended the anime to be nothing but a promotional series for the God Eater Resurrection because of how rushed the story was. Don't get me wrong, there are some story elements that the anime improved upon. But its retelling of the first arc didn't feel fleshed out quite enough to make a good 13 episode anime. Ufotable even stated that this anime was purely experimental for them to try out a few new animation styles that their later Fate series would later adopt (Thus, Unlimited "Budget" Works was born at that point). So I hate to break it to you, but a season 2 of this anime will always remain a dream
