Have an amazing weekend Emma I’ve watch you for such a long time now, when you had your first plot that was completely overgrown, watched you clear it all. All new and fresh. Now look ❤ You done all that. You You are an inspiration
I was thinking of you and the cold weather.... can you bring a flask of hot tea with you and have in your shed or a flask of soup... something to warm you while you're working. Love your diaries xx
Hi Emma, I recommend watching RUclips channel Garden Answer , Laura has videos on storing Dahlias ( tho she’s in America may still be useful, give ideas ) and very useful tips on separating the tubers ( if you choose to multiply your Dahlias) . Have a lovely weekend.
I stored my dahlias as well a few days ago, as I got hit by some frost. Just stored the tubers in a paper bag and put them in the shed and they should be good to go for next year! Thank you again for another wonderful video! 😊
Hi Emma, your channel is fab it’s grass roots allotmenting, I have unsubscribed from channels that have professionally built polytunnels and irrigation systems because they are not what it’s about. Keep whacking it in on this great channel for real allotment people 😂
Hi Emma, We have just been given our first ever allotment, and I am totally new to this allotment/gardening world. Iv just discovered your channel and I’m loving your posts. I’m also waiting for pay day, so I can get one of your planners 🥰 xxx
Enjoyed watching as usual - makes me smile / laugh. Good advice about earthing up / mulching the potatoes - I wish I'd done mine a while ago - too late now they've all died off. We live and learn 🙂
I used to lift Dahlias before the first frost so it gives them time to dry and store. What I did was clean the tubers allow a week or so to dry (frost free) then stop in one of them collapsing storage boxes. I lined it with newspaper and stored them in wood shavings and then cover with newspaper. I no longer have tubers. I just grow dahlias from seed, and they reach maturity in Summer. You can then lift them and reuse next year. I do reuse Begonia though. I often loose odd one by Spring. This year I dabbed them in Sulphur once they were dried.
Two years ago I dug my dahlias up and still lost them, probably did not give them enough time before they dried out, last year I left them in the ground and they all survived, this year 2 weeks ago I cut them down , mulched and have left them in the ground again except 2 in pots which I cleaned and pot in brown paper bags. Hope you gave them enough time to fully dry out.
Emma thank you for reminding me about the dailies tubers , you make me feel so guilty because I dug mine up and left a lot of the soil on them and wrapped them in Paper then left them in my cold frame if they die it’s my fault for being lazy .
Good day Michelene from a very sunnny Cape Town. Love to watch the season change in your garden gives me ideas for my winter planting. Love your work ❤

Haha! Good to know. I do find myself cutting stuff out as I tend to aim for 20 minutes. Will think about longer vids in the spring time when there is more to film I think xx
I am always desperate for newspapers and plastic shopping bags! Once so vital for so many jobs, just history now. Have to buy bags for the bin and to give lottie food to friends....did that save the planet??
Hey emma! Maby its time to get rid of the trees on your plot? U will get more sunshine and hopfully less sluggs and more harvest becauce your plot is not shady anymore!
Emma after washing them u turn them upside down leaving them to dry for a few days then wrap them up when they completed dry😊.
Have an amazing weekend Emma

Ah thank you! I do try to keep things real! xx
Dahlia tubers are actually edible, they were originally grown as a source of food by ancient Aztecs.

I doubt mine will survive much longer, but it's worth a shot! x
Loving my new planner thanks Emma ❤
So glad you like it, thank you so much for buying one xx
You can get some empty bananas boxes from the local shops to store your dahlia ❤
Ooh that’s a good tip!
I dug mine like 2 weeks ago and glad about it... we had real frost and snow last night :O

Hi Emma love your video lv Irene 😘 xx
Snow, ice and hard frost last few days here in Derbyshire, even broad beans gone black so I've given up until spring now.
You need the other kind of reik. The one which is fan shaped.😊

The tubers need to be dry before wrapping. Then go ahead and do what you are doing now.
It's been frozen here in Scotland -3 for the past week never had any rain in weeks .
You can separate them. You don't have to leave them Altogether.
Fantastisch Good work Emmas you the best te moostuin te bladeren opruimen Dalias knollen uit doen thans te video Top weekend grootjes 🌤☁️💧🍂🧤🧣☕️🌡🌜🪴🌿🌹

Emma, Cotto Verdi RUclips channel have great info on lifting and storing dahlias. 🌺
If you remove Dahlias to store them you need remove also gladiolus bulbs.

Hi Emma, I haven't got a allotment, but I find what you say and do., is advice for my rose garden, please keep up your hard work :D
I have been digging today... my parsnips 😂😂😂
you need to do a xmas special
In N America most newspaper Color’s are done with vegetable dyes so I imagine you’re ahead of us on that front over there?
❤❤❤
Gordon Bennett !! would you ever take that leaf rake to the allotment
I had some really nice dahlias in my garden and I thought that they would survive in the ground with some straw mulch , I was wrong 😢
😇👍

Oh no! I love your channel but they are way too short. It’s over before I’ve truely settled into it. 😢
I think an average of 20 mins is a very reasonable watch time
Emma’s videos are beautiful
I agree longer vlogs would be fab
Haha! Good to know. I do find myself cutting stuff out as I tend to aim for 20 minutes. Will think about longer vids in the spring time when there is more to film I think xx
I've been ill the last week so my dahlias haven't had any attention. I guess they might die which would be sad because i have quite a few
Is this a new piece of music?

I might think about thinning them out a bit this year x
