This video was recorded in 1984. its being hiding on an VHS tape until recently. I hope that it will bring back Good memories to people that knew Martin
Thanks for sharing Matt! I would have loved to have met Rochford. He was magic on the fiddle. Lovely piper too. Will have to watch this again! Lovely to hear him talking. So important for those of us that never met him but always heard wonderful stories of him. Claire was lucky to meet him!
Thanks ever so much Matt. That's lovely. We used to go up to Martin and Kathleen for tunes (and rivers of tea and mountains of sandwiches) Great memories of the Rochfords and the music at Ballinahynch. . One time we arrived and ended up staying for three days, camping beside the house, driving Martin here and there, tuning up his pipes, playing tunes and Martin playing tunes for us. We went with tapes full of fiddle tunes from him. I always feel a bit lonesome driving up that way and sometimes stop at the house to have a look, the roof has fallen in by now. I stopped there only a few weeks ago, on my way to Scarriff.

I'm lucky to have met him. There was magic in his playing, especially on the fiddle - the real draíocht of east Clare.
