The story of Yorrichi and Kokushibo reminds me of the story of Dante and Vergil from the Devil May Cry series. Difference is that in the end Dante with the help of Nero mange to reconcile with Vergil and set out to undo what they have once destroyed. 🙂
Kokushibo is such an interesting character to me. His design is perfect, and he is so calm with everything unlike other demons, his backstory is amazing and i just love him
even with six eyes, he still can't see how much yorichii loved him to the point that yorichii sacrificed his own future just so that his brother will have a good life.
Honestly, his backstory has been the only one to make me cry. Like actually cry, tears running down my face. Especially in the part where Kokushibo says "Enough already. I hate you." As well as his death, when he says "I'm sorry my brother." He never truly hated Yoriichi, and their relationship is so sad. And even after death, they certainly wont be able to reunite. Kokushibo is going to hell after the countless humans he has devoured, and I doubt there is a single reason why Yoriichi would end up in hell. :(
Kokushibo doesn't say I'm sorry brother. Yoriichi says that. Kokushibo in the manga makes it clear he didn''t like his brother and dies questioning his brother why he was born
@@rtduncan4509true but see, Kokushibo kept the flute, he didnt keep the sword or any other possible memento of his brother that would symbolise Yoriichi's strenght he so wished to surpass, he kept the proof of his love, broken by his own hands and caused him to break in tears. And he asked why he was even born in the first place to the one person he trusts the most in getting him the answer for in his mind the flawless Yoriichi always saw more than him, always knew more. He truly loved his brother, he was just blinded by his jealousy. And true enough they will never see each other again due to going to hell while the brother went to heave'
As a less talented little brother of a twin, I can relate to him. Maybe because he reminds me of myself. I know that I was never the favorite child, my parents made it clear to me. But I never hated my brother. I just wish I can be like him. Perhaps me and Koku are not so different after all, eventhough he’s a fictional character.

In my opinion if their father has nurture them both equally then they would have ended differently... And their relationship would have been much smoother and their life would have so much better.... I pity their life...
yeah, even when they were still kids, their father was shown to be abusive. I think Michikatsu's road wouldn't have been so stranded if his father wasn't toxic like that. A lot of bad things in this series (and in real world) would be solved if just everyone have a healthy family...
Sadly he is a few centuries late and Yoriichi went to heaven to join his own wife and everyone else he cared about unlike Akaza's wife who willingly went to hell for her husbands sake (if memory serves well). Which makes it even sadder for Kokushibo that in the end even if partially due to his own actions and partially due to a misunderstanding of his brothers opinion of him coupled with self hatred for his own weakness. Michikatsu truly lost everything and everyone that ever loved him ine way or another, because in the end, he never was the first in anyone's heart (even his own familly, his father stopped loving him the day Yoriichi showed he was much better making Michikatsu the spare that was to be discarded without regard, his mother most definitly preferred Yoriichi who helped her all the time, his brother the one he loved most preferred his own familly in the end as he truly loved his wife, his own Familly was most definitly staged since Samurai in Sengoku era and no way in hell his children either remembered or cared for their dad especially not enough since he abandonned them. He didnt have any friend in life beyond his brother and he was silent in the corps too only showing up with Yoriichi. He truly had no one that loved him that much, as he sacrificed everything for the sake of strenght and it all turned out to show nothing aside from his own weakness of will and how dirty and dishonorable his jealousy made him, hell he even hated himself so luch im sure he wouldnt want to gi to his own funeral Id bet Its also partially why he asked why he was even born in the first place, since in the end Yoriichi truly was the kindest, the best at everything, while he was definitly not that ever since the day Yoriichi took the Sword
If you look closely, his character is based upon one of the 7 cardinal sins 'Envy' while his apprentices are based on, Douma - Gluttony, Akaza - Wrath, Hantengu - Sloth, Gyokko - Pride, Gyutaro - Greed, Daku - Lust.
Tbh i might seem weird, but somehow i actually relate to kokushibo. The way he did that bc of his inferiority complex towards his brother kinda reminds me of how i felt during school towards some people. Not proud of that since most of them were kind to me. Anyway, best character by far
I mean, if we're gonna be honest with ourselves as people, a good amount of people at school envied someone else at one point. Like its apparent off rip once we're old enough to understand talk and read that other people are just naturally better than us and this rubs us the wrong way. For some, it is what it is. But for some, that shits leaves a toxic stain on your heart whenever you are compared to someone superior at something. Its just all the more painful when its something basic, like academics...
I don’t know if you can tell but he’s my favourite character in all of anime for many reasons so thank you for doing this video I’ll watch it many many times over also he never hated you rich I just envied him he loves his brother but was blinded by jealousy eventually falling to hate when he becomes a demon while even with six eyes he couldn’t see just how much yoriichi loved his brother
I can't wait to see this fight and the douma fight animated, heck even the akaza fight it incredible. The final arc of the anime is going to break the internet.

Exactly bro, if akaza didn't give up, tanjiro and giyu would die, maybe Douma would be alive if akaza came and helped him(let's be real, inosuke and kanao can't do much), and akaza vowed to never eat a human female, not to not kill them(or greatly injure them) Then the 3 upper moons would've wiped the demon slayers and then it would've been the end, they would've conquered the sun

@@inanis6707 poisoning and beheading is not defeating in my book, if shinobu, kanao and inosuke would have the strength to kill douma, they would've done it without poison, if they had balls, they would kill him without poison Conclusion: he was poisoned and killed which is not defeat.
Michikatsu becoming a demon: I WILL LIVE FOREVER AND ILL BE THE STRONGEST SAMURAI EVER Michikatsu after seeing his reflection: “welp no reason to live anymore after seeing that, have a great day”

I wonder how well of a fight would Michikatsu at his prime as a human do against Muzan or the current pillars or current uppermoons including his demon self.
Slightly above Himejima sounds about right. Lowkey, he would've died against Muzan as a human so becoming a demon may not have been entirely his fault.
its stated that alive koku was second to his brother, so id say he can win vs muzan since sun bro no diffed muzan(dont think koku as human would stomp, but pretty much guarantees a win), and when we last see koku, he is stated to be as strong as muzan(or in same ballpark) without using the mark's physical boosts.

kokushibo was kinda forced too, since otherwise he would of died from the mark at the same age as others(but the fact that he was second to his brother even when alive makes me not truly believe it). Sure he was jealous of his brother, but the fact remains that he is the second strongest demon slayer in existence(and imo during series is stronger than his brother but that is just my opinion)

I hate you."
As well as his death, when he says "I'm sorry my brother."
He never truly hated Yoriichi, and their relationship is so sad.
Exactly, Michikatsu feared having to suffer the fate of Yoriichi
yeah, even when they were still kids, their father was shown to be abusive. I think Michikatsu's road wouldn't have been so stranded if his father wasn't toxic like that.
A lot of bad things in this series (and in real world) would be solved if just everyone have a healthy family...
@@qanitamahrani9139 ikr
Kokushibo's the coolest character in the series. I just wish we could have seen him fight more.
meee tooooooooooooooo
The whole "in spite of this, he was never able to learn sun breathing" lip sinking moment while zooming in actually had me laughing. 10/10!
i really wished they had Kokushibo and Yoriichi have a final talk before Kokushibo died
He truly had no one that loved him that much, as he sacrificed everything for the sake of strenght and it all turned out to show nothing aside from his own weakness of will and how dirty and dishonorable his jealousy made him, hell he even hated himself so luch im sure he wouldnt want to gi to his own funeral
Id bet Its also partially why he asked why he was even born in the first place, since in the end Yoriichi truly was the kindest, the best at everything, while he was definitly not that ever since the day Yoriichi took the Sword

Then the 3 upper moons would've wiped the demon slayers and then it would've been the end, they would've conquered the sun
and honestly if douma fought seriously he would've killed kanao and inosuke. This just goes to show that the demons are on a whole new level and pretty much have to kill themselves in order to die, plus tamayo injecting her poison into muzan, if you get what i mean

He was prob around Himejima's level, I don t see him beong stronger, especially that he only has 6 breathing forms as a human with a normal sword
@@davidb1892 yeah same i think he was the 2nd strongest hashira but just a little bit stronger than stone pillar not op
Slightly above Himejima sounds about right. Lowkey, he would've died against Muzan as a human so becoming a demon may not have been entirely his fault.
He's most likely the second strongest demon slayer in history, only surpassed by Yoriichi.
its stated that alive koku was second to his brother, so id say he can win vs muzan since sun bro no diffed muzan(dont think koku as human would stomp, but pretty much guarantees a win), and when we last see koku, he is stated to be as strong as muzan(or in same ballpark) without using the mark's physical boosts.
