It's an issue because there were too many expectations placed on women in the past to be "pure." In other places too women are shamed if they're raped, guilted and gaslighted to believe it's their own fault (like they shouldn't have dressed a certain way, gone to a certain place alone, be out late at night, etc.) Even though it's the 21st century, technology and infrastructure may have developed over the past 100 years, but a lot of people's mindsets are still stuck in the past.
In islamic countries, the woman gets either killed by her own family to save THEIR honor or she's forced to marry her rapist. Never heard anyone complain about THAT. Maybe because ist not as well known as these drama series....
That is how the society is still. So it is a matter of introspection needed now. Are we giving things needed for the victim and why do these chinese drama don't talk anything about llegality?
this is the third version of this plot that I have seen. to date. it is also the sortest I e I have seen. lots of cut scenes from the original plot. I still prefer the Chen Yunting and Zhang Jinyi version. feels most complete of all three that I have seen.

The villains don't get to pay nearly enough for what FL had to go through in the beginning, but ML is reborn along with her (or he remembered their past life). It's hard to have any sympathy for the female lead because was willingly throw away the male lead for man she knows doesn't give a shit about her. My honest opinion is that the female lead doesn't deserve the male lead who she completely rude and disrespectful and arrogant to for her evil boyfriend and it took herself to be drugged and raped to see how evil her boyfriend is and that the male lead is the one truly loves her for who she is before she committed suicide. When the female lead get a second chance at life to make a different choice in her life but she continues to allows her evil boyfriend and father to control her and use her family fortune to show off to his co-workers and evil mistress instead of just break up with him and fire both evil father and son from her family home and business.

This movie is THE worst version of the script. They added gang rape to the past life ( just to increase violence), but the FL didn't even give him a slap in the next life. He was just kicked to the countryside. Her emotional reaction to the horrors that happened to her last life was so off that it was cringy. People are traumatized for life when they get raped. Just look at what tge FL does when she remembers what happened in the last life 😅 If you've watched Marry My Husband, you see how the FL freaks out when she sees her murderers? That's a realistic drama. She just looks pretty and argues 😂 Don't waste your time on this one. 🤮 PS: There are better versions of the same story. This is my sixth one.

With the video, he plans to keep her in check and leave her rightfully for being an adultress. Realizing her stupid behavior in letting down bothe herself and her now dead parents, she stabs herself with a knife. Just as she is on her last breaths, the man (ML) her father intended her to marry - and the reason for them falling out - arrives too late to save her. She dies in his arms, regretting not marrying him instead. Luckily, FL is reborn in the midst of being bullied by 2ML and his evil 2FL. This time around, FL strikes back, not wanting to commit the same mistake once more. So, in the following days, she starts taking back the control of her life she lost to 2ML, trying to please him in her first life. Well, this has a happy ending.
The supposed love of the girl is actually a torment of conscience, she wants to make up for the past because she felt sorry for the guy, how do you know how to fall in love with someone you don't like in a short time😕
The father esp is hella daring and disrespectful in this version vs the others and with that being said, so is the son(he actually hit his dad... like the audacity) lol If I was him(and still had a conscience) I'd give up and admit my defeat, while on my knees begging for forgiveness(the moment she told me off in the car) bc as the actual eldest rich daughter, my job and life is literally in her hands.
