0.0094 inches. . . . Wow!
Watch Repair Channel hello ,sir. I’m from VietNam . English is not mother language in my country . I really want to be like you , i want to be able to repair watch . Please help me !
Great music!
do you have a video explaining what magnification rates you use and the types of magnification equipment used in your work?
Hi
My name is Huy
I asked you to remove the hair ring of the machine 7s26, 7s36. Can you please help?
I compared what you just had done to a work of art. This is not fixing, this is true craftsmanship and immense patience. Thank you sir for showing us your art and craftsmanship.
Fantastic craftsmanship! That was most interesting to watch....Nice to be able to produce parts "in-house".
The trouble with the amazing macro work in the video is that you really don't get a sense of just how small these parts are! Great work Mark, beautiful craftsmanship and excellent videography.
very true.
@@WatchRepairChannel Hi, with the wheel in the collet chuck, was the chuck grabbing on the back small pinion gear only to hold it?
Awesome video! Now to go try this on my drill press for a really beat up ETA 7750 I got for $85 out of the bottom of someone's parts bucket. (All the pinions are broken off) Was sad to see it in such bad shape. But I think I can make it run. Thank you for all the videos you make! First comment on one but I've watched most of them over the last several months or so trying to learn things, and have you to also thank for getting me into this horology hobby after I watched one of your vids about the 2836 or other movement back then. Now I have an old metal tackle box I hosed out full of watch/movement repairing tools (the basic stuff) and spend half my free time learning what oils do what and searching around for even more tools lol.
I can't believe I just watched you drill a hole in the center of such a tiny piece of steel. Amazing how delicate and small those pieces are. I wish you'd tell us how much these jobs cost.
I'm thinking "wonder how large that lathe is" and then your *thumb* moves into shot and puts everything into scale. Just amazing.
if i may say, you are a metal wizard of the highest degree.. long story but when i was taking classes for applied machining sciences i asked my instructor how to do basically this and the response i got was " make a whole new one" im goin to email this video to him i think lmao courageous work there
he was right, doing this is an impressive feat but imagine you have to charge a customer for this work, i will result in a heart-attack bill 😂
Mark,
This may actually solve a problem I have with a Escape wheel pivot. The movement has no markings other than a K so I am having issues finding a replacement. I am taking your watch repair course and I haven't serviced 1 movement as of yet, I did win several from eBay which should be here any day. I want to service all 5 before moving on to course 3. I've learned so much from your first two courses, and am very grateful you put so much time and effort into producing them.
As ever, VERY interesting videos! Ever thought about induction heating? It would work only on steel, but is very localised, and easily achieved by a very small coil of copper wire , two or three turns wound around the pivot (loosely) and AC current applied. Common in the motor industry, (on a much larger scale). You would get the pivot hot, but not the brass wheel, as the induction does not work on brass. Softening the pivot may then allow straightening without breakage.
Á1www
Mark, very well done.... I love the videos. Been a long time since I've been to the forums- hope to rejoin the watch repair enthusiasts again soon
Many thanks for this video, it has given me renewed inspiration to get on with the repivoting of a 4th wheel on an old Rolex Prince 300 movement I have been putting off for a couple of years! Excellent as ever Mark.
Beautiful work. I think it's time for you to create your own watch from scratch! Thumbs up!
Great but of engineering skill on show there sir. Did I see Silver Steel and Ground flat stock being used there? My company produces that here in Uk.
Really enjoyed watching this. As always you are an inspiration for me.
Superb Mark. You are a fantastic craftsman. Enjoy these videos very much.
At first i was puzzled . "How is he going to fix it , what is he doing ?" . I tried to understand . Then my penny started dropping and i went :" oh no , is that possible ? " . How can that be at that scale ? But apparently it is . Well , that is amazing . It is a good thing that such repairs can be done , many old beautiful watches can survive "through time" this way . Good job . Erwin , Belgium .
I'm always marveled watching you work Mark. Thank you for another awesome video. I'm going to have to sign up for the 3rd video course soon.
Thanks, good tip on making a centering hole. The jig seems to be to keep the graver from floating. I'm going to try using s small graver, might be able to get sufficiently close to avoid making a jig.
Well done! Would that we all had your skills!
Your videos are great. Your style of teaching of patience and depth is great. As a 16 year old apprentice in 1976 in Sydney, I did not have this type of instruction. Great work man. Thanks.
Another excellent video, thanks Mark
Incredible craftsmanship! Thank you for sharing this with us :)
Incredible work. The machining work was very impressive.
thanks
Nice video to watch, new here. You do good steady work on the micro machining level. Turning down the over-sized available pivot material we fun to watch, can he do it? YES.
Brilliant video providing a tidy solution to a potentially big undertaking. Beats making a complete new shafts... Especially for novices. Trusty EMCO Unimat 👍.
I can believe it you're so good in your job !!!!
You make it look easy, man.
Absolutely loved this Mark. I'm away out to buy a lathe now!!
Outstanding! Thanks so much for sharing with us, Mark!
I'm not sure which was more satisfying, watching the video, or adding a 'thumbs up' and watching the likes counter go from '999' to '1K'.
I do some metal turning on a 12x20 lathe. Man, that was bloody brilliant!
Good job mark
Many thanks :)
Nice, thank you and very nice to see an Unimat SL in action.
That looked like fun. I have never seen such a tiny drill. I suppose those snap pretty easily.
Unbelievable work!
When you say good bye, say this: Thanks for watch-ing! :)
Make a video, where you show us, how to paint / make custom dials, would love that!
This was a joy to *watch.*
Great work it is not so easy even to think, but very rarly like u.I very much impressed ,I also do many items like this since I am also mechanical engineer & watch repairer by hoby, it is easy replace but by doing ourselves gives lot of satisfaction.
Wow, absolutely amazing to watch.
Amazing work!! Unfortunately in my city, watchmakers hide from the public and none so far, will do custom repairs like this. I know… I’ve tried:(
bravo. As a one time (macro) machinist, this work is incrediblw!
Music well-suited to the task at hand :-) nice, well-founded video.
Genial trabajo, es muy impresionante!
Good video as always!!
Nice video and good music to go with it.
Makes me want to pull out my flytying gear seeing that small fiddleing going on 😀
Parabéns, seu trabalho é uma arte
Thank you I have been wondering how to do this
Give it a go
Good job, Mark. Thanks.
Absolutely superb.! Len.
Enjoyed that, thanks. Do you sharpen your own drill bits ?
Amazing. So glad I found your channel. Is it ever too late to apprentice?
no, follow your dreams!
I'm a tool maker by trade, and I reckon that was bloody impressive!
cheers ;)
Hey!
New subscriber here. I'd very much like to see you tackle and show us how to paint/ make custom watch dials. Perhaps with a DIY screen printing machine? I have a dial that I'm trying to get made before Christmas but all of my Chinese contacts aren't getting back to me with a price.
Keep up the fantastic work!
Nothing short of genius!
Super job!
very cool but a fair bit of magnetism going on there, even at the end. Would that affect the watch performance at all or would you demagnetise it first?
whenever a watch is serviced - it's best practice to de-mag it before the testing and timing process.
@@WatchRepairChannel Can you show us how that's done? :)
already done....
ruclips.net/video/E6_KOcc4eD4/видео.html
I really enjoyed that.
Love the porno music 😀 great job as always.
Dirty git!

Hello,
I really like this video of yours!
Where did you buy those Drill Bits?
Great as usual!
What is the most expensive watch (estimated) of your repairing experience?
wow u are professional
Amazing video, but the music was phenomenal
Mark, amazing video as all the other ones.
I am very interested in repivoting and I would like to know how you make the 3 flanks drill appears in 6:57 min (I suppose is a homemade tool).. I have tried several times but I do not get an accurate 3 flank profile as you. Should be possisible you complete this video with a procedure to obtain this tool???
Thanks for share all this knowledge.
REgards.
Great video,I have a fourth wheel with a broken sub second pivot. I do however not have the equipment or skills to do this ;-). Do you know where I can have this done so I can get my precious Cortebert working again? I am unable to find a replacement wheel.
merci pour cette vidéo . très bonne idée , je pense de le réalisé pour mon vieux tour Lorge a pince 8mm ..
Also, will you need to temper the new pinion? If so, that would be a very interesting process to see.
No - using pivot steel is already hardened and tempered.
WOW! And you were able to reduce the diameter! First Rate!!
Wonderful, I wish if you were living in Montreal/Canada to cooperate with you on a daily basis as I am a watches collector, especially the vintage, highly valuable watches. Thank you very much , your effort to do these very interesting videos is absolutely highly appreciated. Dr A. KHATIB
Fentastic. Very intrested
Interesting work, congratulations. A question, once the stump has been inserted (I am referring to the 11:03 minutes of the video), how did you remove the excess part without creating wheel problems? Thank you
lio
Excuse me I was referring to the minute 10.10 of the video.
Speechless
you sir are amazing.
Very cool! How does the cost compare to buying an OEM part?
cannot purchase parts for this movement. The Breitling chrono 4th wheel is totally obsolete so ...
Life hack: you can use a magnifying glass when watching these videos. Amazing view :)
Hi, with the wheel in the collet chuck, was the chuck grabbing on the back small pinion gear only to hold it?
Very relaxing vid. 👍
nice job ! reading about it at school vs real life example wauw
Another great video, thank you. As an aside, is there anything that can be done to demagnetize an entire milling machine or lathe?
Harvey Johnson rebuild it entirely of bronze.
Bonjour , quelle l'otite utilisez vous ? Merci
Hello, what otitis do you use? THANKS
Amazing sir
good job !
Você é fantástico!
It seems loctite 680 or some similar, greenish, for-tubes kind?
When searching for parts to make your own watch how do you tell which size dial to get or movement.. will it list the case size it fits in or the size of the part?
For material Is it possible to use sewing needle?
Thanks mark 😀🙋👏👏
Superior work.
lon time no see-thank u sir for all your vcedio
Thank you. What kind/make of drill bit did you use?
Those small drill bits are Carbide.
Bravo maestro
Love the music
do you do pivor repair services? i have an 1850 mobier clock but the crown wheel escapement is broken.
AMAZING!!!
is that something like a common repair.... i ve a wheel with a broken pivot and impossible to find a spare.... any suggestion abouy a repair shop in europe?
I am interested in where you managed to find a drill bit that small? I have had nothing but bad luck lately with finding such things. I'm sure the information of where to find the tools used would be appreciated by many people- Thanks.
I am speechless!
Wow. Just Wow
What is the Loctite solution used to join them
Greetings, I have a JULES JURGENSEN 14KT gold watch manual wind SWISS with the date only window at the 3o'clock. I cannot figure out how to open the back case to locate the serial number and any other nomenclature. Are you able to opine as to a method to open the back case.?
so what would the safe to straighten axle shaft wheel (e.g. a lighter)to heat the axle up to red and let it cool down (so metal opustitsya and become soft) after you straighten and also heat to red sharply lower into the water (so, again, we temper the metal and he will again be strong as they were in the beginning!!!
What is the new shaft material
