Sky Acord plays in a band called Issues, which is like progressive music with pop vocals. He also toured (tours?) with Twenty One Pilots. Great musician.
Thank you very much for doing this review! This gave me the edge I needed to pull the trigger and purchase this bass. I was hesitant buying a non-Euro Spector but I have to say that this thing is built better than my 2023 Spector Euro Classic 5! Thanks again and keep on bringing that low end goodness!
The perfect Halloween bass; Just beautiful. The deep bottom lows are very impressive because that's what a bass is all about. I'm guessing the flow thr neck enhances the remarkable sonic note sustain; Just profound. Finally, very nice riffing.
I have a Spector LT 5 with the Barts and a Darkglass preamp. With NYXL strings it is the best tone ever! Tempted to buy one of these and put the Darkglass in it. Truely magical.
@@armignacI sold my Fender Performer Jazz bass for an ESP Edwards from Japan. I even compared it to Professional II, and US Fender has really lost it all. It felt like it was comparable to a Squier.
@@bassyeyI have a 2004 American Standard P and until recently had a 2019 American Pro II P bass. The Pro II felt like a toy compared to the Standard. I sold it and got 2023 Rick 4003 instead which is loads of fun even if it's a little wonky sometimes. You would have to kill me to make me part with the American Standard.
The NS pulse 2 in Ultra violet is a decent shout. It's a very, very good bass even if it isn't quite the same spec. Much cheaper, too. However, the pulse 2 has a bolt on neck, tone pump JR, black hardware instead of gold, and EMG pickups. It has just the Spector logo on the 12th fret, but crown stickers could be added.
i only have one bass with brass nut, it is an 5 strings old Bass Collection (made in Japan). i like Brass nuts. why so few brands used them, and put a plastic nut ? (plastic nuts in expencive guitars/bass, so bad)
@@ScoobyDoneDiditwhat do you think of this model? Does it sound as great as the video suggested? I can't try it and I don't know if I should buy it or wait a littler longer and save for an EURO LX.
£2k for a Korean made instrument?! Sounds fantastic, don't get me wrong but seems a little steep given how stereotypically Korean made are more budget friendly (but good quality) origin of instruments: above china and Indonesia but usually less than American, German and Japanese instruments.
I just got one - like literally took it out of the box less than an hour ago. This is my 9th Spector (I know, I have a problem) so I'm able to compare to both USA and Euro models back to back. The build quality gives nothing up to the Euros. It's a solid inch of flamed maple on top with a slice of what is presumably walnut and then an alder back. But there's a thin slice of flamed maple top on the back of the wings too! The body is fully curved like all high end Spectors, but the edges are not quite as curved as the Euros - it's more like the Ethos in that respect. However, the curve is radiused more like the Euros and there is no contour cutout like the Ethos. The bridge is a USA brass bridge. Tuners are Gotoh GB707's. The neck is fantastic - it is the Alex Webster profile, a bit thinner than the Euros but still substantial. Nut width is the same as the Euros and USA's, not like the narrower nut width typically found on the Korean models. The Barts sound great, and the volume control is an active/passive push pull pot, which is probably a good thing because the only real downfall on this bass is the preamp. The TP Jr. is noisy, plus mine seems to have a shielding issue but only in active mode. I'll have to open it up and look around. I've got some copper tape in my parts drawer that I can use if needed. That said, I already placed an order for an LHZ preamp and with that, this bass will become an absolute beast.
Skyler is one of the best bass players in modern music! definitely deserves every single bit of this signature model :)
If the joker had a bass
Yes!
I'm a Marvel guy so I was thinking Hulk with his iconic purple shorts
@@bateman2112that is way cooler - a Hulk bass!! 😂

Spector was really ahead of the curve, shape-wise. So nice

SOUNDS REALLY GOOD LARS
omg! finally someone does a video on this! I had the pleasure of seeing skyler play this beast with twenty one pilots twice :D
Thank you Lars and Gregor! Great sounding bass, I know I love mine 🎸👊
Fabulous!! 🤩
The Joker bass, nice
Go Lars!
Without those green inlays that bass would look awesome! Edit: Made in South Korea?! 2400€?! Is this a joke?!
Id rather take a korean made than an american made ngl.
Dingwall produces in China and nobody seems to give a shit either tbfh.
Dude, I dig the green inlays tbh 🤷🏻♂️
I'd rather buy these ones instead of a 4000$ Strandberg Boden Bass which is made in *Indonesia*

Sound's amazing! Don't care what it looks like.
well, NOW i know what spector i want
Hi gregor. I just got this bass and have a question. Did you find the A string to have lower output than the rest of the strings on either pickup?
Not on our test bass, nope
Do a version with “regular” looking inlays and they’ll sell a lot more. That green is very…distinctive.
That just reflects Skyler as a player :)

Is the bass players name Lars Lemon? Like the male version of the Tina Fey character?

EVA bass omg
The sound is really nice!
But the colours...... takes a bit to get used to.
I bet its the same factory where Modern Vintage are made
🔥🔥🔥🔥👌
VERY NICE tones, but I don't like those colors. Good thing my headphones don't see colors.
This isn’t new, they have had this bass for at least 2 or 3 years
Aguilar Tone Pump huh? 2:57
I have this bass and it's a Spector Tone Pump JR inside.
@@ScoobyDoneDidit with everything else this bass has going for it, why would they stick that shitty preamp in there???

Spector is giving fat bassist a good feeling for their belly since 1976!
Like a hug

The green inlays ruin the bass, at least for me.
agreed
Sounds great, looks great, and then you get to the fretboard...
I like the green inlays. Very special and combined with the colour of the body it looks exciting.
@@zulu5157 Great man! Different strokes for different folks!
I dig it for sure! But I can see why others wouldn’t 🤷🏻♂️ It’s all good man, individuality is a cool thing
Did they forget the inlay between the 2 highest frets? 🤔 #OCD
There are some companies that keep the 24th fret bare. I know Suhr also does this.
I guess the inlay would have to be smaller than the other ones to fit there.... #evenmoreOCD :)
5-string bass review, and the bassist plays like three notes on the low B. Nice review and playing otherwise.
My least favourite, clicky, synthetic bass tone, unfortunately.
