This is very informative. Been calling banks and researching for the best debit and credit cards to use abroad, but banks were giving me vague answers like % blah blah blah which I couldn't understand. This video made non-finance people to understand the concept of charging the way you explain it though given it differ from country to country. Thank you!
Did you travel to EU already? What cards did you use? Do you have any problem encountered? I hope you will read and answer my questions. Thanks in advance
Thanks for the video…I never realised that CIMB re-adjusted the amount, when I used it abroad I thought it didn’t have as good an exchange rate as GCash.

Was just about to search a video similar to this and sakto kakaupload mo lang!! Am about to travel to Japan next week and kakarating lang ng Gcash card ko so for sure thats what ill be using for my travel!
Thank you for the update! Napanood ko yung previous video mo about this. You're the reason I decided to register for a cimb account at kumuha ng debit card nila. Pati rin yung gcash mastercard. As much as possible I don't want to use my main bank's debit cards abroad eh.
I always use my BPI debit card when withdrawing abroad! Lugi pala haha I’ll get a gcash and cimb card. Thanks for this. 🙂 I have a Maya card, I’ll try to use it as well on my travel next month to compare rates with gcash and cimb.
It seems like there might be an issue with trying to obtain a card at the Cubao Accenture location, specifically for employees only. Additionally, there appears to be a payment of 200 deducted from your account, which you consider to be a waste of time and unfair. It's important to address this concern with the relevant authorities or supervisors at gotyme to rectify the situation.
This is really informative! I've been using my local debit card to withdraw cash abroad . And yes, I always maximize withdrawal to absorb the foreign bank transaction fee. I thought I had the best deal na. 😅 Good to know may Gcash mastercard and CIMB pa pala. Thank you very much for this vid! You explained everything very well.
Very informative! Thank you for this, Jax! With this, I thought better mag-withdraw sa destination country vs. magpapalit to foreign currency before travel. My atm fee pala huhu.
Thank you so much Jax for such informative content. Believe ako sa iyo. Ang effort! Question, what would you recommend if cc vs debit card? (specifically, bpi visa sig vs gcash visa) Malamang cheaper si gcash kasi walang bank fees? pero maliit lang kaya yung difference?
Did you have any problem encountered while using cimb or gcash cards in POS payment abroad? Ill move to UK for good next month and i already cancelled my cc here, i was planning to get one and use it there for the meantime while waiting for my bank cards. Thank you
Hi Jax. Been watching your vlogs the longest time. Do you still need to inform your bank that you will use your traditional cards abroad? How do you do it with your digital banks’ cards?
I think it's best to always inform your bank when travelling abroad to prevent your card from being blocked. They might find it suspicious that you're using your card in a different country and interpret your transactions as fraudulent.
Thank you for this! It's very informative. Thinking of using debit card to withdraw abroad nalang for our travel to Korea this year kaysa mag-cash. Might get a gcash card 🤩 Do you have other tips for withdrawing via debit card? Or should I bring cash as well?
You forgot to mention, before going abroad, you need to call BPI agent to open your card. So much hassle. The operator forgot to open my card in Europe and gave me a headache over 3 weeks there. It’s pointless. I started to looked for some alternatives after that trauma
Jax just tried applying for BPI thru LAZADA and it definitely works.!!!! May 11: Application date May 16: Received text na approved na May 20: Delivery
I used my BPI debit card when I was on indonesia very easy and ok ang conversion compare sa pinalit namin ang USD to IDR. Planning to use it again sa Japan trip ko but I'm looking for alternatives buti napunta ako dito ❤ Joined kaskasan buddies din and lifted my worry of having 2 cc
Thanks for this video! Im always waiting for ur new post. So better po mag withdraw sa bank kaysa sa miney changer even sa cheapest? Another thing, how much po maximum withdrawal for cimb or gcash. Just got both bec of ur advice!! Pls sana ma answer!!
Tried gcash in japan, Australia and us. Much lower ang rate when it comes to card payment compared to alipay. Much convenient than bpi debit mc. So much reliable and gcash card both mc or visa. Bihira ko na gamitin ang CC ko. Will try atome next time. Thanks for the informative video.
You can use them to pay anywhere MasterCard and Visa are accepted. I have used both my GCash and CIMB cards in the UK, Poland, Greece, Malaysia, Thailand, Japan and South Korea.
@@driftertravels928 Hello there for using GCash and CIMB abroad, do you still need to turn on some settings before you can use them internationally? or is nothing needed at all like ready to use immediately abroad?
Pag mag withdraw ka ba sa gcash mastercard sa ibang bansa yung cash na lalabs ibang currency na? Like pinagawa ko yung gcash card sa pinas pero dinala ko sa japan , yen ba ang maririsib ko abroad automatic?

Helpful content as usual! Do you happen to know if this applies in European countries as well?
yes was able to use very similar din good rates din siya
True, tried this in multiple cities in Italy. Halos walang talo, kaya go with CIMB. Sayang lang nawala si ING, okay din sya.
