didn't have a clue what I was doing in this game, but my god this brings back some nostalgic memories. I was playing this at 12 years old, on a 233mhz pentium processor. The mood this game created is unforgettable to this day. The music from Vangelis is timeless. Ahhh, the good old days.
I love this game. I bought it on a whim when I was 16 for the computer I inherited when my grandparents died. I had no idea there was a film until after I beat the game. I was so excited to see the film, and it soon became my favorite.
I remember playing this when i was like 10 and not understanding it at all, got stuck pretty quickly back then, shortly after the police station. But what a memory.
I was the exact same. Bought it in a pawn shop, played on our PC. I definitely remember it being over my head. Looking back now, it is better than I remembered. Ahead of it's time as some say.
If I can't play the game anymore, its good to watch it being played. I miss this game alot - had a lot of fun with it. Thanks for putting this together.
wow every two years! Then I believe I need to play this for I understand the feeling of needing to revisit some particular game that a minority only cares about. Cool
Hi There I was one of the first persons in my city to ever buy this game. But the player in the video actually forgot to scan two items on the Disc at Run-sitter's. He forgot to scan Lucy's face and he also forgot to scan the getaway vehicle. Although he did scan the license plate, there is a special scan method where the camera shifts to the outside that you can actually see the vehicle in full length. Regards Gerann
Rick Deckard I cant anymore, i need a sequel to this game, blade runner 2049 is coming out this year, so can someone please reanimate Westwood, without waking up EA?
I remember(ingame) when i was in my apartment, the bladerunner music started playing, and i went onto my balcony relaxed and took in the scenery. The only thing lacking in this game is a square glass filled with liqur for me to bring onto my balcony :)
Got this game free with my first DVD-ROM drive in 1997 and was blown away. I imagine if there was a CD version the disc swapping would have been a pain in the arse.
Man this game was really ahead of its time. I loved it at the moment I played it in my childhood and now watching your video brought so many memories. Thank you.
The atmosphere is fantastic. This game along with Unreal, Midtown Madness and Half Life were the first group of games I bought for PC, coming from an N64 and PS1. I remember my first PC only had 32mb's of ram and had to buy another 32mb's to get this game running smoothly. I think it was an AMD K6 processor at 350mhz or something like that. It wasn't until I bought a Voodoo 3 video card that I could do some real gaming on it.
Pimphand Gamester I had a 686-150. Had to get a monster 3D card in order to play a lot of later things. Crazy how far requirements and computers have come
Funnily enough I played most of games on my first computer without a 3D cards. And when I got one with 3D in the early/middle 2000s I played more even older games than new AAA games on it...Was having a blast on Dune and Star Controll 2 when Fallout 3 was coming out.
My ending is where Crystal Steele appears not to be a replicant and joins McCoy in confronting Clovis and Sadik at the crashed moonbus. The bad guys first try to kill McCoy by having an explosive device attached to McCoy's dog but McCoy has the dog try to fetch a treat he tosses at her at a distance which blows up killing the dog. Sadik tells McCoy that the dog was not real but a replicant but McCoy and Sadik have a shootout and Sadik is killed. McCoy then enters the moonbus alone to confront Clovis but finds that he is dying and reading a book. Clovis and McCoy exchange some last words and Clovis dies but it is possible for McCoy to shoot Clovis before he finishes his dialog. After that McCoy and Steele leave together with Steele suggesting that they could work as partners in the future and possibly more.
I didn't know they made a game based on the movie! I love the movie, gotta check this out. Thanks for the upload, I appreciate all the work that goes into this channel, cheers :)
It can be a pain to get working on modern systems, but more than worth it because the game is not only fantastically good with Blade Runner canon, but is also a masterpiece in the point and click genre. This game is up there with many Lucasarts classics for me!
I don't trust modern game companies to do a remake or modern sequel. This game cost a lot of money to make, all the content in it (each game is randomized, who's a replicant and who isn't can change, there's multiple endings depending on hat you pursue, etc), the score, so much stuff. And so even though it sold decently it didn't make a huge profit. That kind of thing is anathema to the modern AAA industry, and I mean this without derision but most indie game studios just don't have the personnel and talent and funding to create something like a modern successor to this.
Super!!! And even more faithful to book, than movie. +eastereggs from another PKD books, as Runciter etc. Great atmosphere, very complex story, visual design and graphics, which after all those years,is still very good. Excellent job, westwood studios!!! A wish, game based on BR 2049. That would be great too.
They say they can't due to Westwood having lost all the game assets and code. The only way to get it now is via download or getting an actual copy and fiddling with it a lot to get to it run on modern PC's. GOG definitely would have had this game on their site to buy if they had access to it by now.

stunning game for 1997
Still one of the best adventure games of all time. Fond memories.
Before compression the sceneries of "Blade Runner" occupied nearly 249 GB! Absolutely crazy for a video game of this time.
Guess how much data this video takes uncompressed? Each frame a 24bit bitmap with pcm audio.. probably much bigger.

The 90-s were the Golden Age of gaming. It's dusk now. Unfortunately, things are never going to be the same.
Just like society.
not only gaming, but tv/cinema, sports, fashion, music... basically everything.

This game is being remastered this year for consoles and Pc!
Probably my favorite p&c adventure ever. Still play this every 2 years. There's not another game that gives me this feeeling when i play it.
The game has a great atmosphere just like the movie.
wow every two years! Then I believe I need to play this for I understand the feeling of needing to revisit some particular game that a minority only cares about. Cool
Same prob one of the best movie to game adaptations in gaming history... shame it doesn't get enough accolades
Thumbs up if you played this, stood on the apartment balcony and listened to Vangelis whilst having a doobie.
No, but I had a stiff drink while listening to it. Was thrilled to find out that you can start the music any time you walk onto the balcony.
Keith Ward to each their own. I dont drink. It is the devil's juice :)
I was too young to do that, but next time I smoke I'm gonna listen to Blade Runner Blues :D
I have watched the film stoned, btw ;)
Joesoj The right way to watch every movie is stoned. It makes almost everything good, and everything that is good becomes exceptional.

Forgot to examine the evidence from the first photograph from Izo’s camera
Forgot to question the bartender and to examine the video camera in Izo’s photograph no. 2
