I grew up in Ophir back before it was ruined. My best friends mom and dad were the best. Arley and Stella Fitzwater treated me like their own son. Arley built a 61 starliner that my friend, Stanley drove the crap out of it. Also Jimmy Skinner took me to my very first drag race at Bonneville Raceway. Jimmy had a 56 Chevy Bel Aire that was beautiful. What a good guy!

I lived in Mammoth in 1975 and I believe the population then was under 40 counting pets. Went back for A visit in 2019 and there`s not much left of it, only A half dozen or so live there now.. Thanks for the info.

Thanks for the comment! Information and pictures about Mammoth really dries up after about 1930 so thanks for sharing.

You are correct Steve. Nothing there but one resident from what I could see...But that was in 2010.
      It is now 2021.

I have been to numerous ghost towns near Moab Utah, most seemed to be occupied! Maybe not, kinda creepy wandering around them alone,! Thinking of making another trip to see if any have changed,!

A trip to a ghost town always evokes a certain wonder and curiosity about how the place looked in the past and the people that lived there. Some towns revive somewhat, like what has happened to Ophir.
