Thank you so much. How I miss shows like these. The 80's were definitely a "Golden Age'' for t.v. the BEST shows on T.V. History.

Now aged 51, I'm so warmed by simpler retro television. Never seen this show (in the UK). But still enjoyed this short clip of the show. 😏

MickeyDJ1 Im 56, turning into an old man. I too long for these days. Was a special time. No triggers, and self respect in public still reigned.

They were neat shows. They were regional, so each part of the country, each major city anyway, had a slightly different show. They'd have big stories, that every PM Magazine show had, then local stories, unique to the local viewing areas of each show.

Had a big ol' crush on Missy Gold back in the day, she's a year older than me. 😁 Glad to see she landed on her feet....many child stars don't, unfortunately.

What I have noticed is that Kirk Cameron's mom has blonde hair, as does Tracey Gold's mother, so it's very believeable and appropriate that Joanna Kerns could play their mother. I thought that casting at Growing Pains was amazing. Alan Thicke was even believeable as their father.

I remember PM Magazine in Charlotte NC, had a contest. The winner got to go to China with the crew. I remember each show was usually hosted by a male and a female.

Yes, exactly. It was a national show with local hosts that shared stories. An interesting concept.

@@louisepalanker yes. It should be brought back. I feel, even as a child, it broadened my horizons. Always something to learn.

I remember these two co-hosts, but for other reasons:
David worked on the short-lived "World of People" [1980-81] from "PM Magazine" creator Bill Hillier.
Sandie went on to be the original host of "Hollywood Insider" a bit later in the '80s on USA Network, then ended up on a TV station in the Dallas-Ft Worth area. I think she was more recently a regular on Hallmark Channel's "Home & Family".

I just saw a episode of eight is enough with 2 girls that looked like the Gold sisters in it. I wasn't sure if that was them until I saw their names were Missy and Tracey in the episode

Apparently Tracey's struggles with anorexia throughout her teens wasn't enough for her parents to pull her from the business. Gotta keep that money coming in, no matter what it does to the child. I like that Missy did go to Yale and become a psychotherapist.

Tracey has said that she struggled with her weight and body image long before she became famous. Tracey wanted to be an actress, loves acting and has said she couldn't do anything else.

When you're 8, you have no say if your parents force you into the business. She liked acting because she was told to like acting.
