Being a Background Actor for The Chosen

- In April, I flew to Utah to be a background actor on The Chosen. My dream finally came true!!! I was literally walking with The Chosen (or at least other background actors). I share details on what to expect if you ever decide you want to be an extra and I give hints for the episode I was in, without giving anything away.

I was there with you. For me (without dishing any details) it was a life-transforming experience. I came to the set of The Chosen after leaving a high control religious group (aka cult) and, unlike almost everyone there, I was not part of a church. I came across The Chosen after leaving that group and was deeply touched by its depiction of Jesus. When the call for background actors came out I knew that I had to be a part of this. I had no idea of what to expect or how I would be received. That week changed my life. I met the kindest and nicest people and God opened my heart to share with them my background, something I never intended to do. I could not have met more understanding people, so much so that I was moved to tears frequently, something that again I never intended to do. Now, months later, I keep in touch with my Chosen Friends in a text message every day where we share thoughts from the Psalms. I may never be seen in Season 5, and if that happens I’m ok. For me the most transformative moments happened in that tent every day.
I know what you mean. I can't express how much my new friendships mean to me. I am still in touch with my friends and look forward to seeing them at ChosenCon. Would you be willing to share your story on my show? I'd love to hear it! It might help others who are tied into religious cults.
Thank you for sharing your experiences as a background player. I, too, was blessed to be a Season 5 background player and loved the experience. I was in Utah for 12 days and on set 8 days. I totally agree with you about the loving atmosphere on the set. They took great care of us. I met so many loving people. How blessed we were to witness the actors perform, especially Jonathan. Thanks again for sharing. I hope that I am blessed to be there for Season 6. Love and Light...
Oh my GOSH!!! I remember you!! You were the sweetest lady!! You reminded me of my good friends here, where I live. I loved how the crew made sure you were comfortable and the last day of week 2 while we had to climb up and down the hill, you kept trying to get me to sit down on a chair that Mitch wanted you to sit on. I would love to interview you on my show! I have a feeling you have a great testimony story to share. I hope you see my reply.

How to do you find out how- where to look to find the opportunity to be a background? Im 70 and would love to do this! No one seems to want to share how they got there
Sometime in 2025 (probably around February or March), you will want to watch any livestreams that are occurring. They will announce on the livestream that they are looking for Chosen Extras for Season 6. They will probably tell you to check out the Come and See website (they will tell you what link to use) where you will need to fill out a short application. Then they will email you once they are opening up for people to donate and confirm their dates. This year we had to donate $400 to participate. Join my Facebook group - I will be announcing on there next spring when applications can be submitted.
