The problem is nationwide. Feds arrested a parent because he dared complain to a school board about them covering up a brutal rape of his daughter, in the name of being "woke". He was literally arrested for not agreeing with his daughter being raped. They can call it "disturbing the peace", it's bull, if a parent had yelled and screamed that "not enough is being done to start LGBTQ only owned businesses", the politicians there would have screamed with approval and not made any fuss about "disturbing the peace". He was arrested for daring to assert his right as a parent to protect his child, a right that the school board angrily disputes.

@SleepyGirl What are you even talking about. Juvenile Court judge Pamela Brooks on Monday found the "boy in a skirt" - whose name has not been released as he is under 18 - guilty of forcible sodomy and forcible fellatio in relation to the assault on a teenage girl at Stone Bridge High School in May. He will be back in court for sentencing in November.

Additionally, many people brag about their sales, post their services for 3d printing weapons online, and on facebook. Additionally, when you catch someone that's committed a crime and is in possession of such a gun you simply ask them where they got it. @@spicyirwin5835 You are talking about Deinstitutionalisation. The movement began in 1961 with the book Asylums: Essays on the Social Situation of Mental Patients and Other Inmates by Erving Goffman. Goffman with two other colleges in 1970 began American Association for the Abolition of Involuntary Mental Hospitalisation with it's purpose being to abolish all involuntary psychiatric intervention, particularly involuntary commitment, against individuals. This led to a push by politicians across the nation to get rid of the mental health institutions leaving little foundation for the serious mentally ill to fall back on. By 1980 the Mental Health Systems Act was signed into law by President Carter but by 1981 a Democratic Congress pushed to repeal portions of the law as Congress felt state provisions were sufficient. In 1981, Reagan signed the Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act that the Democratic Congress had put together and voted on. It wasn't nor had it ever been drafted by President Reagan. It was entirely of Congresses making.
If you want to start pointing fingers then maybe you start by informing yourself of the two decades previous to the Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act. The issues are complex and nuances. What matters is that this movement initiated by Goffman received zero push back from other members in the community. Like all things when it is in a bubble with no other voices allowed to be heard things can easily become disastrous. And it has become disastrous.
We need Mental Health Institutions to treat those who are seriously mentally ill and this consensus that those who are seriously ill can be relied upon to continue their care is absurdly flawed. It has led to a serious crisis in the United States not just for the jail systems but also for the communities in the US and the mentally ill themselves.
The issue is more deserving of a scapegoat blame game of "Uhhhmmm Gow Wah! Reagan Fault!"
We have done this to ourselves and now we need to be man enough about it and say, "We need to fix it."
The truth is that there isn't a politician who wants to tackle it as there comes serious political liability to do so. It's really going to come down to the point when we as an entire populace say, "Enough."
And we are not there yet. Not even close.

@@mikeg3439 Coming from communist country as immigrants, I always believed democracy the perfect system until now. I am losing hope for San Francisco because the majority of voters are just going to vote like this until the city becomes the next Oakland or Detroit. @@mikeg3439 i think this is kind of an unfair characterization is socialism. if you go to the Scandinavian countries, you don't see lawlessness. that's because they enforce the laws. they also don't just give away everything for free like these Californians are advocating for. Americans have lazy philosophy, they don't investigate the nuance. the Scandinavian way of thinking is you use housing as a carrot, if a drug abuser wants housing: they can get shelter for free, but that's living with no privacy with lots of other people around. if they want housing, they have to get a state sponsored job and stay drug free.
it's not the socialism that's touted in America. Americans mistakenly point at Scandinavian countries and lazily say, that's what they do and we should do that too. but it's not what they do, because they're not crazy.

@@trinydex I wasn't aware that I had commented about Scandinavia (for some reason YT is not letting me see the comment you replied to), but I am aware that Scandinavians are WAY more logical and practical about how they administer this sort of thing, and that Americans, it's pure crazy politics, nothing to do with what works or what makes sense.
I further wish that Americans would study closely how Scandinavians handle incarceration, because I firmly believe we could learn massively on this (but I suspect our politicians do not WANT to learn).

When I was doing ride along years ago, we had a DA (won't say which city) who was doing catch and release. That night we arrested domestic violence abuser who had a least a dozen arrests for beating his wives, girlfriends, and kids. About two years later I read that he had killed his girlfriend and her kids. I called the cop I did the ride along with that night (we stayed in contact) and he was finishing off a bottle due to his anger over that guy. He had arrested him at least three times and each time the local DA released him. I think he wanted to take out the DA. He didn't, but I completely understand his anger. DA's that don't do their jobs should be fired and never allowed back in the court system again. He was a glorified SJW who believed that certain people weren't at fault if they committed crimes. He was an idiot and finally lost his next election, over that incident and a couple of other fatal incidents.
