Apologies if I stutter/repeat myself in the video. I was very nervous recording my lines because I never done scripted content but really wanted to try it haha
Ok, so I tried this for some of the fights in Title Defense Mode. Here are the outcomes of those fights. Glass Joe: 4 punches (Accomplished). The easiest to know as just like Contender Von Kaiser, Contender Disco Kid and Contender Great Tiger, it's one of his exhibition challenges. Get three stars, then when he does either his "Vive la France!" taunt or "Liberte!" taunt, throw the 3-star punch at the right moment to win the fight. Piston Hondo: 3 punches (Haven't tried this one yet). Basically the same strategy of this video: Counter the Hondo Rush three times with a hook. I haven't tried this because as we know, the instant knockdown version of the counter is frame perfect. However, I really doubt it's impossible. Great Tiger: 5 punches (Accomplished). Get a star from his jab, wait for him to do his mirage attack, counter the three clones, dodge the spin and throw the star punch to win the fight. Bald Bull: 4 punches (Accomplished). Counter his hook twice to get a star from each counter. Then, wait for the 1:30 mark for him to do the bull charge. Counter it with a hook. Then, when he's approaching you while cleaning his mouth, throw the 3-star punch to win the fight. Mr. Sandman: 6 punches (Accomplished). In phase 1, get a star punch from any of his attacks and when he tries to boo you during his Dreamland Express (or attack you with it), throw the star punch to knock him down. In phase 2, he'll do three blinking uppercuts. Get a star by countering any of these. As we finished phase 1 with a star punch, the first attack Sandman will do after the blinking uppercuts will be a Dreamland Express. Do the same thing that you did in phase 1 here to knock him down again. In phase 3, as he's one knock down from losing, he'll do the barrage of blinking uppercuts (which I like to call Blinking Rage). Get a star by countering any of the 14 blinking uppercuts, dodge the rest and when he's tired, throw the star punch to win the fight.
Yeah those fights I am pretty sure won't go lower given the circumstances. The other fights like Hippo, Don, Soda & Macho I have looked at and I do have a number for them but I'm just waiting a little longer in case there is something new with those fights.
wow, i didnt actually know about why macho performed his clothesline, my pb is a 1:06 with the ko, i use a 3 star punch in phase 1 but didnt think it mattered
Great video! Off the top of my head, I can't really think of any way to save more punches. Will you also be doing Title Defence and Donkey Kong at some point in the future?
I have an observation and doubt: Why, in Super Macho Man, didn't you give him a second one-star punch in his second phase when you were trying to drop his health to the half before getting the 3 stars for the final punch? I guess that way you could have saved one punch because that one-star punch reduces more hp than the 3 normal punches you hit him, and you only need 2 punches.
@@nolan414_can you provide the info for how much health each fighter has in contender and title defense mode, as well as the max number of knockdowns each fighter can take in contender and title defense mode?
There is actually a way to finish Don Flamenco with 12 punches. I played on Dolphin emulator but I also tried it on real hardware. When he does his rose flurry, duck any of his hooks and he will follow it up with an uppercut. Unlike the other non-provoked uppercuts, this one can actually be countered for a star. This means that you don’t have to provoke him for the third star.

No prob!
Yeah don’t worry being nervous is natural.
not a problem! video is informative yet relaxed, keep doing your thing 👍👍
Hey, a 37 min vid, you did amazingly well
It’s fine bro I have bad stuttering problems myself too
I wish Aran could be beat in 7 punches. Like every other aspect of his fight

@@nolan414_ Ah, alright then
There's so many niche and cool things in Punchout it's unreal. So much of me wants another, but I'm worried it wouldn't be as good as I'm imagining.
this is such a well made and scripted video. phenomenal work!
I'm quite happy that you improved on NU's attempt, I knew there were some improvements to be made
That was truly an amazing and detailed video my friend. Well done.
Nice video. I didn't know I helped, but glad I did, hehe.
The info at 23:52 wouldn't have been there if it wasn't for your Damage Value videos. :)
18:59 This part got me
How ironic for total amount of punches matching with the year when Mike Tyson's Punch Out was released.

This Video is AMAZING Love it and still play punch out Wii till this day!!! ❤ 👍🏽
this deserved more recognition
seriously

Possibly
@@nolan414_ Glass Joe can be defeated with 5 punches as a 10 Count KO. But how many minutes does it take?
cant wait for td macho
He's going to be a hard one for sure
Underrated
brilliant video
This was awesome

I did also try that and he does his triple clothesline attack immediately after a 2nd 1-star punch in Phase 2
@@nolan414_ Yes. You're right. And thanks for answering my doubt.
Wouldn't decision not work with Don Flamenco, or was that only in Mike Tyson's where decision always makes him win no matter what?
Can I beat King Hippo from Title Defense with only one punch?
Probably not
Have you tried to do a 3 star punch then a 1 star punch for king hippo?
The damage values of a one star + a three star punch would add up to the same value as 2 two star punches. So nothing would really change.
Where did you get the information at 5:51?
Punch damage values and health were all figured out by Mysteryman95
@@nolan414_ where can i look at the damage values for the other fighters?
