  • This isn't every feature from the 1.40A and 1.50A OS updates, just the 4 we liked the most. If you haven't already, click below to update your Analog Four MKII or Analog Rytm MKII.
    Analog Four MKII 1.40A: www.elektron.s...
    Analog Rytm MKII 1.50A: www.elektron.s...
Here is a list of the features from the 1.40A and 1.50A OS updates:
All sequencer tracks can now be set to send sequencer data through the MIDI OUT or USB ports to control external, MIDI-equipped, gear. Each track sends note on/off and velocity data over MIDI.
Added the possibility to set individual scale (speed of track playback set in multiples of the current tempo) per track.
There is now an option to set a specific tempo for every pattern within a project.
[MKII] New graphics are added for several parameters related to the filters, envelopes, and FXs.
[MKII] Improved knob graphics to better display the min, middle, and max values.
[MKII] Updated the graphics in the CONTROL INPUT 1/2 menus.
[A4] Added support for Elektron Transfer.
Implemented the functionality to randomize the parameter values on a parameter page. Press [PARAMETER] + [YES] to randomize parameters.
[MKII] It is now possible to control multiple performance macros simultaneously with the QUICK PERF AMOUNT knob.
[A4] Added Undo functionality in the NAMING menu.
[A4] Pressing and holding FUNC, and then turning the knob for the DELAY TIME parameter now makes the parameter snap to on-beat values.
[AR] Pressing and holding FUNC, and then turning the knob for the DELAY TIME parameter now snaps to a set of fixed values instead of an offset to the previous value.
[A4 MKII] Changed the default setting for MIDI OUT to MIDI+USB for new projects.
The user is now prompted to select SysEx transfer interface when sending project backups and USB+MIDI is selected.
[MKII] The device's OS version is now shown in the EARLY STARTUP menu.
[MKII] The LOAD PROJECT and SAVE PROJECT menus now include a header.
[AR] Pressing the [PADS] now automatically changes active track. This is the default setting for new projects, but can be turned off in the SEQUENCER CONFIG menu.
[AR MKII] Sample waveform view has been added on SMPL PAGE 2.

Bro, your tutorials are amazing. They easy to follow and learn. the length of the videos is perfect.

Thanks for this roundup. I didn't know about the randomize parameters. Wonder if it will work on my Analog Keys (seems like it will since it's not marked as A4mk2 specific). Some future topic suggestions (since you asked):
I'd love more tutorial videos, especially for efficient/creative workflows,
including integrating a DAW (especially Ableton) into workflows, especially beyond the absolute basics.
    designing kits+patterns for dynamic/expressive live performance in mind;
interfacing in a multidevice live-setup (I appreciated your video about using the A4's midi out features with external gear).
Finally, backup procedures to a computer? It's a weirdly boring request/question, but since Elektron shelved their C6 software, there's no great way I've found to back up projects/kits/patterns/sounds on MacOS. "SyxEx Librarian" app is what other users recommended, but I can't get it to successfully receive files that the AK will then understand.
thanks again for the excellent videos!

their new software "Transfer" seems only to be one-way (from computer to device), which may be fine for OS updates, but doesn't seem to let us offload device data (eg projects) for backup. It's weird that they haven't built that functionality into Overbridge, since it's an editor that's kinda a librarian.

im thinking of getting a mk2 rytm - so with the new update I can connect the mk2 to my access virus ti and have the mk2 trigger it?

two quick questions. is the update abailable on the a4 mk1? and can the performance macros be controlled using midi cc signals? (read the manual but still a bit uncertain) like is there a way to change effects/envelope/lof parameters with midi cc?

You can control performance macros with MIDI CC, but you can't control multiple macros like you can with the quick performance knob on the MKII because there is no specific CC value for the performance knob. But like everything, there are workarounds: www.elektronauts.com/t/quick-perf-knob-cc/87462
The update is available for MKI but not all features are available due to the differences in the two versions of the machine. Here is a list of which features can be updated on MKI and MKII versions: www.elektron.se/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/Analog-Four_MKII_OS1.40_readme.html

Awesome :). How do you do the tempo change?

    • @ElektronVideoKlub

Select the metronome, then hold function and press YES to switch between tempo per project and tempo per pattern.
