I have helped hundreds of people pass their B2 First exam at no cost, and I would LOVE to keep it that way. Of course, I still have to maintain a full time job while running this channel, and BELIEVE ME, I spend the majority of my free time writing, recording, editing and publishing videos. I love doing this, but I would love it even more if I could do it for a living!
If every student that PASSED their exams bought one beer for Bruce I’d be able to do this full time. That would be MARVELLOUS!
So, if you’ve PASSED your B2 First exam, and feel that SMASH English really helped, please consider donating here:
    www.buymeacoffee.com/SMASHEnglish
This is not an obligation. One of the fantastic things about SMASH English is that it is free for everyone that needs it! This will not change. However, if you do feel you can say thanks with a little bit of money then that’s fantastic.
    Thank you all!
    Toby.

Hi Toby, I just wanted to thank you for all your amazing videos❤️ you’ve helped me a lot during my preparation time for the FCE. I’ve got my score today, 179 points, I was so close to get grade A. But still I’m very satisfied with my score. I got 183 in the speaking part and 190 in reading. And all thanks to your tips and videos, thanks again for all the effort you put in your videos, we love you❤️

Tomorrow is my speaking part and your videos HAVE HELPED ME a lot. As a person who is feeling really anxious while speaking ( not only in English), you also had helped me to be more confident because I know what I am doing tomorrow. The only problem is that my partner is a person I hate but I know we'll get along with each other. 😆

A great example and you are so right, when we are in the exam we are blocked, and this is not as difficult as we think, it is like a normal conversation, thanks

@@SMASHEnglish unfortunately, not yet... I think I will pass, somehow. But I never had to pee this often, amazing what stress can do to a person. I had a really cool group of people today. One girl who had speaking part with me turned out to be a student at the Academy of Fine Arts, just like me! We talked about an hour after the speaking. Well, it was a great experience, this whole preparation (with you, of course). But I hope I won't have to do it again. Thank you so much Toby, I mentioned your channel dozen of times today. You are great. I think I'm still gonna watch your videos, after all, you are so damn intelligent and funny.

I swear, I used to make this awful mistake (you know repeating "I agree, what do you think"). I am surprised my Cambridge teacher didn't say anything regarding this afterward, as I am convinced it must've been terrible for him to keep hearing this phrase.

hey toby! a year ago i passed my b2 first exam at A level, and in a week I will once again be under the Cambridge examinator’s mercy. since I got 186 points in the speaking last time, I’m confident I’ll ace it, but your video’s are still a huge help! The thing is, though, that there’s no video on c1 speaking part 4… can you maybe make this happen in time? Either way, thanks so much!

9:10 If I had to say why they do it, it might be because they don't care about what their partner said, as there is a high probability they never met the person in their life.
(My opinion + attempt to make a nice answer)

Hey, Toby. In the video you say that the best interaction occurs when the candidate:1. Rephrases what their partner said.2. Makes their own point and connect it to the next prompt.
However, what do you mean exactly by "makes their own point "? Adding some more details to what his partner said and connect it to another prompt or to give their own opinion on the prompt being discussed?

You know what, it looks ideal talking about it but in reality... My God, I encountered a partner who was rushing through the subjects so much that I even couldn't find the right moment to join to the conversation... He even didn't ask me about my opinion when it comes to it... It was mainly his monologue... I've managed to say sth a only a little bit, and at the and I said my opinion...But definitely it wasn't good interaction between us.

So if I have only 2minutes is it even possible to talk about each issue? I suppose you can barely talk about two or three 🤔

    • @guardian4101
      @guardian4101 Год назад

I’m Toby’s son, my suggestion: ‘’Barely can you talk about two or three of the options when you have so short time, I suppose’’ it’s way better that what you have written. It’s a pleasure (anyway 2 minutes are enough)

Hi, I’ll take my B2 exam in June and I’d like to ask you an opinion. I’ve recently written this essay, what do you think about it? The writing part is the most challenging in my opinion😂 The task was: “same people believe that cycling is the best way to travel around cities”
Write about: health, safety and your own idea.
It is currently believed that going sightseeing with a bicycle is amoung the most chosen way, in fact tourists of all the world are attracted by this unexpensive and gripping activity.
Firstly, it offers the possibility to scan the horizon but also to keep fit at the same time which is the major aim of our society as it is asserted that people are gaining weight.
Neverthless it is a thrilling and healthy activity, it could be argued that it does not guarantee the safety of the tourists, in fact not only have been registered thefts but also accidents which have caused the cancellation of many holidays, and consequently a huge damage to the economy.
Despite all above, there are advantages of cycling that have a paramount impact on our society: the environmental side.
It could be noticed a dicrease of the harmful gases produced by transports which contribute to protect the environment and to stem the consequences of pollution.
In light of this, I think that cycling is the best way to travel around city provided that it is guaranteed the safety of the tourists.
I’m looking forward to reading your comment

Hey Letizia! Thanks for the comment and the kind words!
The structure of your essay is great! As is the content but be careful with your use of the passive. You can refine your skills here:
