I think I understand Daniel well. He reminds me of a computer that is running too many programs at once. Where normal people are ignoring the world, Daniel's head is processing his senses incredibly well. It's just that for all the processing speed is set for the input, his output is lagged (speech). Quite fluent. He's chosen his words specifically and precisely. I love how he says he's processing what he says before he says it.
Daniel said that some people have a hard time understanding his speech and indeed, sometimes it is hard to tell the consonants from each other but clearly he has good things to say. Would it be possible to correct the subtitles in this video so that he may be well understood?
I found the subtitles distracting on how off they were. But, in the end, I put the playback speed a bit higher and turned the subtitles off which really helped me. I’m an audio learner but I can rarely focus on what’s being said without the subtitles, and I feel that I would be better off with correct subtitles, not just for this interview but for everything on RUclips really. Overall, great video and I really enjoyed Daniel’s message:)
Some might find it helpful to set the player at the twice the normal speed setting. While it makes Paul's questions sound really fast, it brings Daniel's responses closer to normal spoken response rate improving listening. This may or may not work for you, but it worked for me.
Run the cursor over the player's screen. When the bottom toolbar appears, select the gear looking icon which is for "Settings" and click on it. A screen appears, which has among other things "Speed." Click on the arrow and the list for speed selections appears.
I think the subtitles could possibly help someone with speech difficulties understand how they are being heard. It can be a tool to learn and improve or just be aware and understand.
Thank you so much. I love my brothers and sisters who have autism. I have met some autism spectrum people and one good friend mentioned this to me, to get my diagnosis. He has asperger too. I always resented this suggestion. Now I am OK with it because I trust my friend. He is truthful and says it might help to understand. I am learning now what this is and I am so grateful. I am not insane. Diagnosis appointment is one phone call away, I will get it over with tomorrow. God wills, and that is my reason. May he bless our journeys on our different paths. Jesus our Lord. 💙 glory to Him
Andrew Morton God bless you brother. Jesus loves you, call on Him and you will see for yourself, I promise. He will help you brother. I pray for you , the Holy spirit comforts you and makes you able to be a blessing to your surroundings. 💙 take good care
Aspergers from the Inside you should watch this it talks about people with autism have higher testosterone levels then the global average. ruclips.net/video/U_xJxuLa7gQ/видео.html.
I really like Simon Baron-Cohen's work. But, I think it isn't necessarily that we lack "empathy" - understanding another person's perspective. It is that we care less about hurting another's short term feelings as opposed to what is right or wrong as we see it. Most neurotypical people have a heard mentality and want to pacify things for harmony. It is like when a parent tells a child, "I'm going to give you what you need and not what you want."
I think like with any other demographic, it’s a person by person baisis. Many have a lot of liberal leaning ideals when it comes to social programs like disability support. However others may be a bit more systematic/pragmatic thinkers in general which is more linked with right-wing politics. These are just trends I understand, I could be totally wrong

I love the way you are. Just keep being yourself.

Interesting concept! I didn't know RUclips had that setting.
Good idea, that helped =]

Wow! I tries 1.5 speed. It sounds incredibly natural!
I get stressed out listening to me at that speed tho. lol. I need to chill our a bit... haha
Thanks Daniel for your insight :)

Sometimes people resist labels because of ignorance of what it means. Once we realise having aspergers doesn't mean 'broken' it is a lot easier :)
great interview

I dont have a gift, realy.
Andrew Morton that’s okay, many people don’t💕 you don’t need to have savant skills to be valid.
Why do you think people with autism are heavily overrepresented in the right-wing side of the political spectrum.
I'm not sure that's true. At least, it's not something I've noticed.

Hmm I would say with that I see around me it's the opposite, so I think neither is true ;)
