GREAT reaction and breakdown!!
The decomposer on the young composer’s page. This feels right
This is blessed!
Hey man, that means a lot coming from you. Collab when? Kidding. Unless??...
Ahah cheers
"It's all in 4/4?"
"It always has been"
This one really shines a light on Larnell's overall talent. Just amazing :-) I love what Bob Lanzetti does with his time as well, very cool.
So that's his name. I'll try keeping that in mind!
The pocket of Larnell is so deep one can use it as a very comfortable sleeping bag. For the entire band. In case of emergency.
And I enjoyed your thoughts a lot.
This message is also motivated by tickling the YT algorithm so that more people can find perhaps both Snarky Puppy and your channel for the first time.
Ayy that's awesome. I love that comment. Thanks a lot!
That guitar solo always sounded to me like whale songs. Also, you see people talking about larnell learning the songs on the plane, but nobody talks about how all the songs in the entire album were written the week before.
There's the docummentary and a little bit of a making of of We Like It Here on youtube.
Wait what?
This breaks my brain. I need to react to that
Please do Outlier next. It's also from We Like It Here and it has one of the best sax solos I have ever heard.
Oh man I'm getting spoilers now?? Ahah awesome. I'm gonna do it soon (couple weeks)
Outlier is another great one
You’d also love sleeper there’s a great percussion part in that one
I did Sleeper! Going through the whole album
I've watched tons of Snarky Puppy reactions from all kinds of folks, including other musicians and composers, but I love your insights into the music the best. Please keep it up.
Thank you man that means a lot! I'll definitely finish this live album journey.
Michael league arranges all parts except solos. Those are mostly improvised.
Okay, makes sense. Direction and expression
that unison rhythm is 1 2e+ e+a +a|1 a2e, 3e+ e+a etc. Still in 4/4. They just feel it. But mathematically, that's what it is
Love this dude!
Thank you!
Those time signatures were all over the place. But good lord during that half time segment during the Moog solo was like a half time groove with a poly rhythm mixed in it. About the Strat going out of tune, if the tremolo is floated properly it returns to pitch as I should. Yngwie Malmsteen uses his frequently but he stays in tune.
I have to see that in-tune tremolo to believe it tbh. Maybe I'm too much of a boomer but I haven't found that return to normal trick yet, anytime I use the tremolo on my Jag it goes out of tune and it's supposed to be one of the better systems. But yeah I believe you. Guitars are things of the gods
my comment makes no sense.
@@TanguyBlanchard lol it's all good I knew what you meant.
Anything else off we like it here gets my vote. For a change of speed, maybe look at something by Ayreon. The Day The World Breaks Down is good starter. It’s kind of rock/metal opera. Good stuff!
Okay, why not? I'm open to anything at this point
Yeah that's a good point about the mixing quality (and respecting the way that the musicians set things up). When Lanzetti hits those super low notes on guitar, is that using a foot petal?
I don't think so! Those notes go up to D6, the ending point of most guitars in standard tuning. High indeed, and not the most convenient point to reach!
The low notes are done with the trem system on the guitar.
Ah oui, celle la me fait des petits quelques choses
this react is looooooooooool, go play mith musician my friend, go jam, and learn ...
Check out the Russian version of Michael League's writing COMBINED with Corey Henry's level of playing in ONE PERSON... Valeriy Stepanov, arguably the world's best funky fusion jazz composer/keyboard player: Try "Hold Onto Hope" one of his compositions, played with his brother on bass, and the amazing Russian guitarist Roman Bondarenko... - ruclips.net/video/qq2tu-vAOns/видео.html
Stepanov's right hand has to be cybernetic to arpeggiate like that... This guy is somehow the world's best kept secret of Jazz Fusion MASTERY as you'll find DOZENS of his compositions all with HOOK, and him playing with a who's who list from Bondarenko to Martin Miller and even Alex Hutchings as well as with Chick Corea before he passed away! He also does covers ranging from Lyle Mays to Michael Jackson!
Alright I’ll definitely check that out. Thanks for the suggestion!
I might be wrong but I’m pretty sure Michael League arranges for all parts.
Someone in the comments said he does, but lets the band do their own solos. I could look it up but I prefer hearing it from the comments, more fun
@@TanguyBlanchard You should watch the documentary on this record, it explains a lot. ruclips.net/video/5p5sEewsYNM/видео.html
@@jcrawford068 I am planning on reacting to it, someone said Michael wrote everything in a week so that startled me
@@TanguyBlanchard not everything. For example Mike Maher (tall trumpet player) wrote "Sleeper."
@@jcrawford068 oh thank you! had no idea
*GASP* Boomers! I'm Gen-X and in the 16.3%. The Boomers are in the top half of the 3.7% and mostly in that 65+ category, and none of them are listening.
You're correct! I was kidding in saying like, there's no actual kids watching it seems. and i guess that's fine
i tought u were michael league
I get that a lot
It doesn’t get old though
