there is an error in the tutorial: before dealing the cards you deal 7 cards as a "penalty deck" with the top card faced up. If you have any cards remaining after dealing all of the cards you give 1 to the 1st player and put the rest in this penalty deck (and not place cards out of the game as you stated when you can't evenly deal the cards). if you have to put a royal card in front of you, you also put the top card of the penalty deck in front of you (and reveal the next one from the penalty deck) Specials: when one of the 2 special cards is supposed to go in front of you you put it in your hand instead and put one card from your hand in front of you based on the claim. (for example: you pass the 'empty' card claiming it is a cockroach and they say it is not and check it. You must take the empty in your hand and place a cockroach in front of you.) If you cannot or do not want to place the claimed card in front of you (in the example case a cockroach) you must put 2 cards from your hand in front of you. Putting a royal follows the previous rule that you also get the top of the penalty deck as well.

A cockroach (non-royal) and the other person said “No it’s not a cockroach”. - Do I get the card back and open it in front of me and because it is a Royal, I need to take another card from the “penalty” deck?
Sorry for the late reply. If you are passing a car to someone you now have the option to say it is (a) one of the critter types or (b) "a royal" in the case of a royal, it can be of any type, it just has to be wearing a crown. And if you names a critter {(e.g. cockroach) then even if the cockroach is wearing a crown it counts as a cockroach. And yes, you are correct, if you ever receive a royal card face up in front of you, then you need to take a card from the penalty pile.
Enjoyed the video. I'm having a terribly difficult time even finding an English copy of the 'royal' version of the game. Where did you get yours, and is it even necessary to have an English version? I'm thinking I could probably get away with the German version just fine (Kakerlaken Poker). Thoughts?
Yes, what Tristan said is correct, the game is language independent, so get whatever version you can. However, I could also check up my local game stores for the Royal version and let you know. I know Lvl-up Games does do shipping, so that may be an option for you.
