After opening the vi editor, press i on the keyboard to enter insert mode. After editing is complete, press :wq to save and exit insert mode.

It does not match with me. After unpack the stage.tgz, I get local.tgz.ve. When I use File to know the type of the file, I get that is a data file.
What is the ESXi version?
