Very interest to listen to this again after the Sam firing chaos.
21:38 He said that the board overtime needs to get democratized to all of humanity. (And he mentioned that the board can fire him in the topic of no one should be trusted including him)
21:53 he said that this technology belongs to the humanity as a whole.....you should not trust one company and certainly not one person.
I am curious Will this faith still be kept if he join Microsoft?

Will he be getting a ton of money or stock now he's with MS? Seems like the Board's attempt to fire him just moved everyone important to a team without the previous OpenAI blocks in place. Interesting.

Following tha ai narative, i think he is trying to play both sides. Infiltrating big companies hoping he will change the game from within... But as many naive altruists, he will get crushed by reality.
Nice times create week men, or however that saying goes, and silicon vally has had some nice times. Add the confidance that money and growing up in America brings. A recipe for disaster.

Export the Quantum, Chat GPT, Revit, Plant 3D, Civil 3D, Inventor, ENGI file of the Building or Refinery to Excel, prepare Budget 1 and export it to COBRA. Prepare Budget 2 and export it to Microsoft Project. Solve the problems of Overallocated Resources, Planning Problems, prepare the Budget 3 with which the construction of the Building or the Refinery is going to be quoted.

I am afraid that once AI, becomes like Frankenstein it will run away, and will be out of control, and the human race will become a target, like any other power that wants to be the dominant force, I hope I'm wrong !

There’s 0 evidence that machines will start to subjectively experience the world. Consciousness is just as chemical as it is electrical. The sci-fi trope of the AI coming to life and having wants and dreams is pure fantasy.
The only thing we have to worry about is other humans with this tech.

His secret is a great communication style, and apparently that’s what he’s lauded for. But I think it’s a con. If you listen carefully fully, beyond his word salad, he says absolutely nothing. it’s all big words and concepts that stir anticipation and make you "feel" like something big’s going to happen. Something great is coming, and we can all get there safely - oh, and end poverty . But what exactly…nothing. He says nothing. Nothing profound. It’s all a word salad.
But we’ve all been here before. Think Elizabeth Holmes. She practiced communication styles. She too was good at speaking and talking and convincing.
To my regret, I find the problem is not about them, it’s about us. Why are humans so thirsty? And what are we thirsty for that we keep falling into these traps.
Sam Altman is just the latest con to come along, but he’ll pickup a lot of influence and power along the way. And oh, lot’s of money too.

I mean I agree with you that many of his statements are vacuous; but the key difference between Altman and Holmes is that OpenAI has actually already released a product that's pretty revolutionary. I think it speaks volumes that so many tech companies around the world are racing on the heels of ChatGPT---and if you've used it it's easy to see why. Who knows if we'll ever get "AGI" or "the end of poverty" or whatever lofty goal ideologues like to trumpet about... but what we have, and what it suggests we could have pretty soon, is amazing regardless. What's profound isn't what sam says here, but the technology that's already behind it.

The only way this could happen, is if our 'politicians' could be replaced but the risk is that we would end up with a benevolent dictatorship run by ASI. Actually that's the less dangerous scenario the 'benevolent' bit is what they're trying to embed now, before it outsmarts everyone.
