Thank you 88rising for bringing Yoasobi to stages outside of Japan. I got to watch them live in Manila and it was one of the best moments of my life. Hopefully you can have them play somewhere again, the world needs more Yoasobi live concerts.
I could only understand how great Yoasobi felt during Their performance in Jakarta and Manila. Japanese audiences are very quiet and conservative which isn’t a bad thing, but there is something magical being able to sing along to you favorite songs with the experience provided by performers that you don’t get in japan because of concert etiquette they have. Singing along feels amazing to the performers and to the crowd.
For the people commenting about how the audience is only focusing on recording not enjoying the performance: It's very rare that Japanese artists have a chance perform outside of Japan, and Indonesia is one of YOASOBI'S biggest listener base, so of course it's understandable if people want to record and keep it as a memory. Knowing how hard it is for Japanese artists to be able to perform on an international stage, this could've been their first and last performance in Indonesia. Also, the audience is also actively interacting with YOASOBI, giving them loud cheers and singing along with them. (refer to Billboard Japan report, YOASOBI、海外初パフォーマンスはインドネシア＆フィリピン) Most importantly, YOASOBI was really happy with the enthusiasm of the audience and they felt really welcomed. I think as long as the artist and audience enjoyed the performance, it's all good!
