Thanks for all your Shimanami Kaido videos! They were really helpful in preparing me for the ride which I did in early December. It was a fantastic ride!
thanks for the info👍 we did it with no plan a few years ago.....only 2 islands. the part where you got lost looking for the ferry was exactly what happened to us. we were on Innoshima. ended up stopping at the post office and the lady there helped us by drawing a map. 😊
Thanks for your suggestion. I plan to bring my bike from Thailand to riding there. I don’t think about wind and enjoy with local islands, thank you again
Mike, these are great pieces of advice, and comes very handy! I'm planning to cycle on the Shimanami next autumn, I'm used to cycling, but yet it is great to consider what happens if you cannot or don't want to cycle the whole route in one go. Amazing video, as always! I'm looking forward to cycling there, I'm missing japan so much 😊
Mike, would you ever consider riding the Kaiko again....alone or with different friends, on an e-bike? I would like to get more detailed info/comments focused on the ebike adventure. Thanks, and hope you post more Man In Japan videos on various topics.
Thank you for sharing these videos, it helped quite a bit when we rode the Shimanami last month! I recommend the FU resturant for Okonomiyaki!

This is perfect. I love quiet rural riding. Perhaps my reward at the end for riding from Onomichi.

Thanks for the advice! I hadn’t considered the wind issue. Being in a channel between Honshū & Shikoku, ima guessing it can be quite changeable.
