This is a great car for people who will keep their car for many years! should be reliable to! Hopefully this sells so honda brings more models with this tech and build their electrified lineup. People keep saying the price is too much but fail to realise how promising this product is. You must do the test in the city traffic because thats where the fuel economy boost is significant… anyway great video ❤️

Initially the figures look good and agreed Honda is giving an 8 yr warranty on the battery too.... But here's the thing....lithium ion batteries loose charge retention ability on a year on year basis....so the mileage wud keep dropping as the months and years go by.....hope it doesn't drop by a huge amount.....also There is an epicyclic gear box and a clutch to engage and disengage the engine to match wheel speeds.....during highway runs too as show in the video.... I really wud like to see this system working reliably as the months roll by..... Honda has been smart to provide a warranty on the battery but not on the hybrid system..... Little worried abt the complexity involved here.... also for the price of this Honda city.... One cud rather go for a mid range vw virtus(prices cud be a tad higher than the Skoda Slavia) and save money on say a 7 year run and enjoy driving a brilliant drive at the same time..... Personally wud prefer a turbo petrol with a nice auto gearbox than have this needless complexities involved in a car..... And that too after paying almost 20 lacs.....

What was the level of regen when you were driving?
have you used 91 octane fuel or normal? City's performance better with 91 octane fuel.
It is time to phase out diesel from passenger car segments and move to hybrids...Government should provide incentive for it...

Well, if you do a comparison between vx and hybrid, & assuming 18 and 27 kmpl respectively, the payback would be approx 11+ years at a petrol price point of inr 110 per litre and an avg running of 2000 kms per month; on road prices at 16 and 23.5L respectively.
So, are the bells and whistles of hybrid worth it?
To me ideally a price point of 19L on road price would have made sense.

Auto cut is not the correct way to fill fuel, reason is the sensor at the end of the nozzles are not at the same place thrs a good marginal distance & no 2 nozzles are the same. ( the sensors that cut the fuel are at different heights due to wear & tear while using the nozzles . They shift with time ..Fill it till the brim to see the actual fuel average.
The auto cut is just the safety feature for fuel not to spill out of the tank while filling . Even if a small drop touches the nozzle the fuel delivery stops .

My i20 diesel easily gives mileage of 22-23 kmpl on highway while maintaining speed between 100 - 120 kmph and Honda city diesel gives 28-30 kmpl on highway and in city 17-18 kmpl. Right now the transition to electric cars is not stable and many manufacturers are still testing various technologies like fuel-cell or other fuels including hydrogen that can still power ICEs.
