No dought Mehdi Husain ,was a great gazal mastro of all the time .we also love to listen his gazal till now a days. I differ from his view regarding Mukesh ji.During previous day recordings were done in a single track.as technology was not advanced as now a dayes to record in multi track .when ever aney thing happens wrong whole recoding to be done from starting. Such incidence happens with all the singers at that area. More over after listening the recording singers again approach for further recording for more perfection. These are the common practice those dayes due to single track recording. What Mehdi Husain told we don't bother .It depends to whom you are interviewing, his personell like or dislike. Kallayen ji once told in his interview that Mukesh ji striking rate is 8 out of 10. Kallayen ji is also a great music director of that area. All of them are legends to us &beyond compare in number games. There songs brings tears in our eyes, gives joys,& inspired us to give more energy in our daily life. We respect them as our God

Whether you are Indian or Pakistani, it is important to know that Ustad Mehndi Hasan Khan was a classically trained singer and musician. Not only was he educated, but he was at the level of Perfection In His Singing. While playback singing is a limited sub-type of Music. A play-back singer can never be equal to a CLASSICAL TRAINED MUSICIAN.
Agreed but it's also vice versa a classical singer cannot present the melodius effect to the song though he or she may be technically correct. Playback singers of those time are classically trained and if you listen to old classic songs, these are raag. Based songs, one has to be classically trained. And playback is quite difficult I u need to have terrific control over voice to suit the situation and the actors, its a very creative art of profession... God has blessed us great singers like Rafisaab MannadaTalatji Mukeshji Koshoreda Hemantda, Mahendra kapoorji, Hemant Kumar , Lataji Ashaji and many more who are gifted with great voice and classical music....
