  • moved back into fundamentals of scholarly examination of historical materials, this time looking at a section where I clearly disagree with Augustine, and yet his original context still must be represented accurately.

Exactly. Romans 9:22-23 is the answer.

Wilson said in an interview with Flowers that there were many Gnostic scholars that knew greek and Hebrew and wrote commentary on Roman 9 and John 6 and the gnostic scholars commentary was identical to Augustine. And those commentary by the gnostic scholars was in his dissertation.
If White doesn't read them then he will have failed to refute Wilson. And White will look bad if Wilson brings those up in a debate....if that ever happens.
Is White missing those gnostic commentaries? Are they not there?
I believe he touched on one. Maybe. That's not enough if there's more.

Idk. Do you know of any Greek scholar gnostics that wrote commentaries on Romans 9? I have never found any. If
Doctor Wilson knows who they are he should say. I have his dissertation. There's nothing in there.
