It’s even better in person, I love listening to it and it’s one of the big reasons I decided to improve on the natural stream that was occurring, by placing the rocks to get that beautiful sound, and actually each rock (or stone) is individually placed (pretty much). A factor included when choosing their positioning and angle was the sound they create when the water runs over them 😃 as well as the aesthetic.
Hi, Jonny and Sam! I love the sound of the water! It´s calming! I think the cherry trees will blossom this spring. They look very healthy. Thank you for this new video from your precious farm and the doggies!
Hi Mary Jane 😃 how are you doing? That’s fantastic we’re so glad you enjoyed the stream, it’s so beautiful. Fingers crossed they do, we’ll be watching them and let you know 🍒 they came from a good home to a new good home 😍 Awh thank you so much for watching
This is a super video. Stunning views, amazing music with the beautiful drone shots, humour and laughter as well as the stream bubbling away and full of wildlife. Great work. Loved it. 😍 ❤x
the winters are very short,I remember a few years back having 36° in March ,April and the Serra da Estrela top being totally white for weeks,I'm sure you will eat cherries from those trees!!
Oh nice! Yes it was warm here in April last year. Was there enough snow for skiing up there in February do you remember? Oh for sure. We had some cherries from our farm last year and they were the tastiest cherries we’ve ever had! There’s one box that the old owner of our farm picked for us, it was quite strange she just let herself in picked the cherries 🍒 from the trees and gave us the box 😅 but they were the best ones so I think I’ll have to ask her where she got them from…
Hi guys, you might find it easier doing as the Portuguese do burning the olive prunings where they fall and having a number of small fires instead of carting it all to one firepit. The trimmings are highly combustible so burn to nothing very quickly and the ash piles will help fertilise the ground on those terraces too.
Our neighbours seem to do it in one pile and we don’t necessarily want lots of burn patches over the farm. We believe that the fires were usually had in this spot where we’ve arrange the fire circle due to the grass not growing back properly. Our soil appears to be rather fertile from the sheep that used to be on the land but we will probably use that ash in places 😃
Dogs are starting to become farm dogs, Jonny getting attached to the grass, trees getting planted, Bedford putting in work... Can't wait for that house to go down and see what get gets constructed there. Have yall thought of a wood temporary construction? Maybe could get relocated to other places of the farm later.
I was thinking the exact same thing about the dogs while watching this video, they are in heaven on the farm, it’s their favourite place ever! Same here! But at the same time it’s given us the opportunity to focus on the land first and there always seems like there’s so much to do (in a good way!). We’re now planning for our 2024 vegetable patch 😎 We’ve been considering something like that or a caravan which is why we’re kicking ourselves that we didn’t drag one over from the UK with all of our belongings 🤦🏻♀️ A bit naive (or optimistic) perhaps but we thought we’d be living in the house on the farm by now 😅
Hey guys , my wife and i are considered a move to portugal also and as you can see by my profile pick im a motorcycle lover also ... we are coming to portugal in February for a scouting trip so that will be fun ... we were just wondering if it would be possible to get a cost of living breakdown from you guys .... Cheers Rob

What is going on with the steering wheel of the truck ? At 4 mins when the truck was started ,it was wobbling like mad ! LOL looks like its about to fall off
I wish there was! If the Portuguese officials were slow already it seems the Christmas and start of new year they’re even slower. We are waiting on 1 document before we can proceed with planning at the moment and we don’t have enough information to actually tell you anything more right now, that’s it 🤦🏻♀️ well, except that we are starting to look into stone masonry specialists in the area to begin discussions about what we are looking for 😃
They do say women are better at multitasking...truckin' n ploughin' at the same time, nice one 😂....How's winter treating yous..how cold has it got so far?
😅😅 winter is pretty great to be honest. It’s so warm this week we’re looking forward to creating the next video to share with you. I think the coldest in the morning has been around 1 degree celsius but today in the sun feels like 20 degrees celsius, it’s a beautiful day, we can’t believe it’s January ☀️
Sorry but I had to laugh at your "off-roading" struggles, Sam! 😂 Beddie has a big ol' NA engine, she'll get you out of any situation even by just dumping the clutch and let the engine idle. Oh and avoiding "attacking" hills from weird angles also helps, like Jonny said. 😄
😅😅 yes, Jonny has had more experience driving vehicles (that shouldn’t go off road) off road 🙊 and in my defense the Bedford had one tyre at 50psi and the other at 15psi 😅🤦🏻♀️ excuses excuses ey! Haha! Thanks for mansplaining 🤣 lolz. I do admit he’s a better driver than me… and that’s difficult considering my background 😏 but new cars are much easier to drive, that’s the problem.
Fantastic! Loved every minute, so good to see you both so happy , Trixie and Wilson love getting in on the action 😊xx
😍❤️ we are super happy thanks for commenting and the dogs are in heaven when on the farm - they love it! xx

Se têm lareira em casa a madeira de oliveira é ótima
temos vindo a recolher a madeira de oliveira mas os paus são bastante pequenos

Wilson looks like a real 'bruiser' compared to Trixy.😂
Haha! He sure is. They’re both rehomed dogs so I have no idea what breed they are they just most look like French bulldogs 😅

Oh don’t worry about that Andy, that is one of the key stand out features fitted from factory 😅
Any news on planning for your “casa”?

Save the pear for smoking wood, it gives excellent flavour.
We certainly will 😃🙌
Sami, almost doesn't count, lol
What do you mean? 😃
