I love the fact that you made this post because I just read tons of fanfics at wattpad and how it would have gone if it was Peeta rescued instead of Katniss and him being replacement to the actual Mockingjay. In one story, they had Katniss still do the interviews but when she is at her own cell she keeps on muttering, humming and singing the meadow song which helped her calmed down even with the venom and torture. When it came to the torture part, she was told that Peeta never loved her and tried killing her blah blah blah, but what run through her head was so sad to the point that she said to herself that Peeta will never do that neither do her family would do that ever which what kept her somewhat sane but not really. Instead of the choke when she got rescued, I believe she collapsed or tried to hug him so bad but the venom was just terrible and they did try to do the whole strapped on the bed type thing but Peeta kept on telling her that everything the Capitol did was just not real ever. Prior to Coin dying, Peeta asked Katniss if she could teach him how to yk how to use the bow and arrow and it was hilarious for both Gale and Peeta. Before the Coin part, they made a strategy that instead of killing her exactly with the arrow why not, injure her but someone trustworthy would kill her in the background without people knowing and come to think of it, they used Katniss’ mother to do it since she was more logical on medicines and stuff. That’s exactly what Peeta and the others did especially the Coin part. It was a much easier transition for Katniss with the whole mutt thing or PTSD than if with Peeta. I think out of all fanfic theories or way of thinking how it must have gone if that was the route that story was my favorite. I completely forgot the story title but it’s on Wattpad. Super interesting. Do you think we would have gotten the book from Katniss’s POV still? I think one of the reasons the timeline we got was a good choice is because so much of the action revolves around Katniss, but if Peeta had been saved and been more of a face of the rebellion, and if Finnick took out Coin, then it seems like a lot of the major plot points or story beats would not have been made as easy to show from solely Katniss’s perspective. I think her being the one captured by the capitol would’ve been really interesting assuming SC keeps the solo Katniss POV. Like, how soon into Mockingjay would we even learn that not only is District 13 alive but that they’re behind the rebellion and they took Peeta. Also, assuming the capitol captures both Katniss and Johanna, and knowing the sort of torture canon Johanna received, it makes me wonder what they would’ve subjected Katniss too. It also makes me wonder if she and Johanna’s bond would’ve been stronger or weaker. Great video!
If the story were different and Katniss was more of an equal protagonist to characters like Peeta and Finnick, I wouldn't be surprised if the books had a different pov. Like how the prequel was from Snow's perspective and SOTR is likely going to be from a whole new perspective. Each new trilogy book would have been someone different. Katniss for book one, Peeta for book two, Finnick for book three?
Such a fun theory! I'd have to pick the Finnick and Prim timeline just for the poetry of it all. The two who sparked the rebellion were extinguished with it as well.
It is poetic, isn't it? Finnick finishes the job that the two star crossed lovers couldn't because they gave their lives so he could have one with Annie and his son

at 1:38 when you said about Finnick possibly doing the taking off the trackers, in the story I was talking about below, Johanna still took out Katniss’s tracker and only the fact that when Katniss did blow up the arena, Peeta tried to find her after that shenanigans but instead he saw her being lifted by a hovercraft but couldn’t save her and instead another hovercraft got Peeta and Beetee along with Finnick and Peeta said that he saw someone else took Katniss and Haymitch and everyone got super worried what would the Capitol do to her.
I haven’t even watched this all the way through yet and I’m already in love I can’t believe it took 10 hours for this to finally show up. I’ve been loving your videos since I watched the first one. I’d love to see you do how you lose the time war I haven’t seen much about the book and it’s so good

love peeta but in my eyes there's no world in which he would be a good enough face for the rebellion. they needed the fire that katniss brought, peeta didn't have that at all, the only time he had serious passion was really for katniss. he wanted to save people yes, but katniss was the only one who had the defiance needed, and the spontaneity to outwit snow and coin. peeta was too predictable.
I think you're right, however, he did cause a small riot when saying "if it weren't for the baby." I do think in some areas Peeta would still be able to manipulate the Capitol where Katniss couldn't but most the time Peeta and Katniss would have been better as a team.
