* Ténéré is a Tamashek word meaning empty land or desert. The plural of the word is tinariwen.

They are 100% part of our culture and heritage, they roam freely in our desert and are free to rule themselves. Now mali and niger is another problem. But the twareg are algerians, even if they are also malian and from niger.

People's history is beautiful.. The Afro-Asiatic group of the sub-sahara especially touches many tribes in the sahel and its precedent neighborhood. I myself am from their bloodline, though I don't understand their language, their songs is soothing beyond anything.
