Really enjoy the main character's design in Gestalt: Steam and Cinder! The game itself looks cool, as well- I'm not drawn in by Pixel games nowadays, but this one looks different than the usual.
@BacklogBattle To me, she just looks really badass, in a reserved and mature way, and without trying too hard. The trench coat and hat also makes me think of Carmen Sandiego, lol.
A good month to clean up some backlog- finishing rise of the ronin, sandland and then back to rebirth. My new games for may will be animal well and system shock for ps5
I’m kind of glad may is a slow month for me after the onslaught that was April. Still haven’t even touched a couple of the big releases. The only one I’m really looking forward to is the land beneath us and corporation and that last one might just become a turn on deku deals and wait for a good sale.
Gestalt is definitely a looker, loving that pixel art! The Wizardry remake could be good, and I do remember playing the original back in the day. My purchase for this month will definitely be Senua's Saga. It's hard to describe my reactions to the first game, but I have rarely felt the emotions of a character in a video game as I did Senua, and I'm ready for the continuation of her story.
Nothing really in May if I had to pick it would Paper Mario. Don't really mind though because of how much I have to do and how many games I have to catch up on.
Gestalt looks amazing so that will be the one game I am looking out for when we get more news on the other platform releases. But for now i will only focus on getting the physical copy of Eiyuden Chronicle for switch and hoping that by then, the issues that the switch version had will be resolved in a couple of weeks and maybe Unicorn overlord. Still everything else is interesting so thanks for the heads up Alex!
I honestly did not expect you growing up here in the Philippines! Been a subscriber for a long time! Anyway just wanna say how awesome your reviews are and your always my go to reviewer and content guy! Keep it up! And more subcribers to come 🙏🤘❤️
@@mbsisktb9045 its a trpg + deckbuilder. Story and characters are vanilla/tropey but the gameplay is snappy. Theres interesting systems and the music is pretty good for an indie. Of course, since its an indie, the graphic could use more polish but for sure the combat is engaging. I do recommend trying it out. Its not too long. Have finished it a couple of times already.
Then you should try it. Lol. Trpg + deckbuilder with good music and snappy combat. Gameplay is engaging despite the lack of polish graphically. Biggest flaw so far is bland/tropey characters and story. I've finished the demo a couple of times already. Its that fun if you like trpgs or deck builders.
@@TheRobversion1 I have the demo downloaded but haven’t had a ton of gaming time in the past week or so and there were a ton of good releases the past week or two. The one thing that makes me hesitant is the price. I am planning on checking it out just haven’t had time to. I’m a huge deck building fan so I’m sure it will be a win.
@@mbsisktb9045 i typically just do trpgs or srpgs so i've had time with it as my last one was unicorn overlord and i just finished my 2nd run there. Been playing front mission 2nd remake while i wait for CARDS. If you have other games on the docket, i suggest not buying it until you plan to play it already. That should give you enough time to wait for a sale. I agree its not worth $40. I think its a $30 game. But its a very niche game and i want more games like it so i'd reward the devs, especially if i hear from reviewers that its not buggy. Wont be a day 1 buy for me but i'm definitely watching out for reviews.
for what about me I have a ton of games to buy in May for my collection (neptunia.. hellboy... cupid parasite's fan disk for who likes otome I dunno I love VNs but otome not so much I have Cupid Parasite still wrapped somewhere...). Especially lots of Japanese imports from library of ruina, cards rpg, Tokyo psychodemic, wargroove 1 and 2 physical bundle, touhou mystia... luckily they moved Planetarian to June... Until Then I never heard of but it looks interesting: I fell in love for a space for the unbound and this one looks quite similar
Paper Mario, Gestalt, Wuthering Waves, & Senua's Saga 2, I'll wait on reviews for Until Then. It reminds me of another game that released last year that I bought but can't recall the name of. If it meets or exceeds those expectations, I might give it a go.
Are you a Filipino? Wow that's awesome. I went to the Philippines this past December. Filipinos are really friendly and helpful people. I stayed in Baguio. If one of you guys visit the Philippines, you have to try Bibingka. You will thank me later.
I've seen bits of Gestalt awhile ago and it did look interesting, I just hope I have money for it. Obviously the biggest game for me next month is Until Then, thanks again for introducing it to me Tito Alex...you don't mind if I call you that right? But yeah just seeing more games set and made in the Philippines is a big thing for me and I'm definitely going to buy and promote the FUCK out of it for that reason alone.
@@BacklogBattle LOL thanks sir also kinda off topic but just for fun the next time David visits you, you should have him try balut and record his reaction, that would be hilariously cool!
I'm interested in Gestalt, Homeworld 3, Ghosts of Tsushima, Hellblade 2, and *maybe* the Neptunia game. But I don't play games new for the most part. Backlog is big enough that I can happily wait for sales.
I can’t wait to play paper Mario the thousand year door again I originally played for the game cube so I can’t wait to play it again also I’m looking forward to playing whenever it decides to come out the wolves among us 2
The one game I'm definitely playing next month is Endless Ocean Luminous, which comes out this Thursday! For those who don't know, this is the third game in the Endless Ocean series, the other two having released on Wii over 10 years ago. Luminous was revealed at the end of the February Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase, which is surprising considering they've published every game so far. Endless Ocean is a relaxing diving game in which you can explore the ocean, discover over 200 species of animals and add them to your encyclopedia. The sense of discovery and wonder in these games is phenominal, and there's even a thrill to be had in diving at night to see what different creatures appear. You can also interact with each animal to unlock more trivia about them, whether that's poking them, feeding them, or using an underwater whistle to communicate with them. All of this is accompanied by tranquil songs from the likes of Hailey Westenra and Celtic Woman. These games have a reverence for the sea unlike any others I've played so far. In the first game, you could set any part of the map you wanted as your diving zone, but you could only explore within that zone (as the Wii couldn't render the entire map at once). Endless Ocean 2 had smaller individual maps to streamline the experience, and allowed the player to resurface and walk ashore to find any marine animals above water. Both games also allowed for 2-player online co-op, where you could dive together with a friend and share your discoveries. Endless Ocean Luminous, on the other hand, has one big, uninterrupted, seamless open ocean for players to explore. There will be over 500 creatures to discover, and the game supports up to 30 players for online diving sessions. The developers of these games are Arika, and clearly they're putting their 99 battle-royale game experience to good use with this new EO game. It'll be the first time we see many of the returning creatures not only in HD, but realistically-sized as well. Endless Ocean Luminous is a sequel I never knew I wanted, but now that we're getting it, I couldn't be more excited. It has the potential to be my favourite game this year. I don't pre-order games often anymore, but when I do, that game usually ends up being my GOTY.
Really enjoy the main character's design in Gestalt: Steam and Cinder! The game itself looks cool, as well- I'm not drawn in by Pixel games nowadays, but this one looks different than the usual.
Why do you think that is? I've been wondering about that myself. It just looks really cool stylistically!
@BacklogBattle To me, she just looks really badass, in a reserved and mature way, and without trying too hard. The trench coat and hat also makes me think of Carmen Sandiego, lol.
@@BacklogBattle I think it helps that it is really well animated.
@BacklogBattle I think other modern pixel games have a filter that makes it look weird. It's supposed to immitate old pixel games.
I was completely unaware of be Wizardry remake releasing soon so i appreciate the heads-up.
Definitely Paper Mario for me! I can't WAIT!
Gestalt and Paper Mario for sure. Im still playing Stellar Blade and Eiyuden.
Hey Alex, thanks for being one of the best channels on RUclips! Every video is a treat
My pleasure!
Love that Unicorn Overlord (that's overLORD not overLAWD 😂) Collector's Edition. I made sure to scoop me up one as well!
You know, the best thing to do is tie in Vampire Survivors into the Castlevania universe, for the fun of it
That’s what I thought they were gonna do! Not Contra LOL
I really have been keeping my eye on Until Then. I'm glad I'm not thr only one!
I've been waiting for Gestalt for years and i missed playing Paper Mario when it originally came out. I'm glad I'll get to play both of these.
Gestalt is my most desired game on Steam. I have been watching it for over 2 years

May my big month... homeworld 3 and still unicorn overlord
Would've been nice if CARDS RPG: the misty battlefield got a mention here. the demo was fun and deserves to get more visibility.
I’m scared to try the demo because of how many boxes that looks like it will tick for me I’m a sucker for anything with cool card play involved.
