I saw this serie first in the chronological version (didn't knew it then, i just started watching it because it looked interresting, so didn't know that the story is normally started with this.) So for me watching the scene in which they meat again after all those years really felt powerfull and heartwarming from the first time around

The moment where LWJ and WWX are staring at each other is quite literally, everything. They absolutely nailed this scene. Also Wuji...yep, a world of pain, alright.

The moment Lan Jian recognized Wei Wu Xien by grabbing his hand is one of the most touching moments in this series.
No, he recognised him by the tune he was playing which was the song he wrote and composed specifically for Wei Wuxian and sang it to him and him only in the cave when they were injured after fighting the monster in the cave (I forgot its name) and this was the song that Wei Wuxian was playing to calm down the Ghost General (Wen Ning) and send him back into hiding. But also the hand-holding was a soft moment too

First timer here - seriously, when does this series pick up? I'm dying here. Everyone kept freaking out about this show in the Word of Honor comments and I'm struggling to understand why. The flute spell was cool, but is "the power of music" seriously the main weapon in this show? They have swords and I'm assuming study martial arts. I don't get why everyone's so whipped about this show. There's a hint of cuteness, but not enough for the "fever" everyone's talking about. I don't get it.
@@ukallii Heyo! You posted this a few days ago so I'm assuming you're a little deeper into this series (or not). Warning! I will be giving some major spoilers so don't come at me haha.
Wei WuXian (WWX) is a goofy character who's especially good at spells and cultivation, whereas Lan WangJi (LWJ) is a stern, cold character who follows the rules at all cost. When both masterminds meet, they create a great bond. It started with arguments because of some rule breaking, but eventually they become really great partners. (In the book, they fall in love, clearly not directly displayed here).
It indeed is a BL (boy love) series. Now back to the plot.
WWX in the first 2 episodes are in the body of Mo XuanYu (MXY). MXY sacrificed his life so WWX could come back to life (after he died). He meets LWJ and Jiang Cheng (JC, his step brother) again. JC has great hatred because of the great harm WWX indirectly caused.
The next few episodes show WWX's flashbacks of his carefree days, in which he shows his silly side, and his great bond between JC. LWJ was annoyed by his silliness, but slowly melted this icy barrier because of his charms. They fight puppets (people controlled by the Yin Iron). The Yin Iron is a powerful stone that can manipulate anybody and cause great harm (it was split into 4 pieces or not...) so WWX and his friends decide to find it to save the different clans.
During these episodes, it shows how much WWX and LWJ fall and care for each other. LWJ composed a song dedicated to WWX and himself.
WWX saved JC by giving him is golden core when his was damaged, which JC didn't know. Due to this, WWX could no longer practice swords and had to stick to dark magic through flute. The magic overtook his body which caused everyone except for LWJ to turn against him. JC kills WWX because WWX contributed to the death of his mother, father, sister, and brother in law. (Well, not exactly, but that's what it seemed like).
JC kills WWX because he turned "evil" and created a stone called the stygian amulet (similar to the Yin Iron). After he reincarnates in MXY's body, he uncovers who frames him for killing the people he loved (WWX was adopted into JC's family).
I won't spoil anymore because of the major plot twists that will shock you! This series is really at the top of all C-Dramas.
Correct me if I'm wrong since I'm finally back after taking a break of this series for 3 months!

1. the song WWX plays is in fact Wu Ji, which LWJ LITERALLY wrote for them but never titled, meaning the second that melody was played, LWJ knew (and WWX wonders how he knew smh)
2. When LWJ grabs WWX wrist and he grabs back, I love the chilling parallel of them just needing to have the grip they couldnʻt have when WWX was killed (its almost the same as back then, but this time WWX grabs back)
I think that WWX grabbed his hand back to prevent him from chasing Wen ning

Lan Zhan grabbed his right wrist the same as the cliff scene, and this time he grabbed it tight and wouldn't let go. I think WX tried to free himself but Lan Zhan wouldn't let go. There was a little struggle and Lan Zhan's face changed to be more determined. 16 years. He waited 16 years to hold his hand again. Won't let go.

At first whwn other recomended me this drama, I was like, "Why is everyone recommending this drama? Is it that much good". Then after coming to check this this drama imprisoned me. Now I can't get out of that. Just watching the drama over and over again and thinking this drama is freaking good. Every character of this drama is so well managed and all the actors are freaking hansome (specially Xiao Zhan). Even the villians are also unforgetable. Every character will give you a special feeling. You will be so into the drama. This drama is just abobe any standards.
