We have 13 provinces and territories in Canada and only 2 of them sound different and a third one that's mostly french. We really just sound like all west coast Americans.
@@cosmicturban2797 I live in Detroit so I’m familiar with our Canadian neighbors. Obviously these impressions are exaggerated but that’s the point of all impressions
I love how James was describing the rules of the game and making it sound much more dramatic than it actually is, I wonder how he'd describe the rules of Chess: "Get too close to the Queen's line of sight, and DIE"
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS! Crokinole was always one of my favorite board games growing up in Canada. My Grandmother had a board that doubled as chess/checkers on one side and crokinole on the other. We played it until you couldn't feel the tips of your fingers anymore. Nothing was more satisfying than losing at this game 10,000 times to my father because he never held punches lol.
@@adoredpariah Well the checkers part was on the other side you flipped it but yeah that would make chess more interesting if there was a moat in the middle of the board.
8:09 I had to take a breathing break because I was laughing so hard. I can't with Patrick's stupid face next to "b points" and no other useful information for the game, like team names 😂
James: "We got 10 points on the board." Patrick: "This board." James: "Oh, sure." Patrick gets up and literally just writes "10 pts" on the board. Its one of my favorite visual gags they have done.
There was a period in my childhood when I played quite a bit of crokinole. It got to the point that I would fashion a cardboard fingertip protector using scotch tape and an elastic. Small town Ontario sure was an exciting place in the '90s.
I feel you. My brother and I got bored and invented this game called handball where would each sit on either end of a hallway and try to smack a little ball past each other. So basically table hockey, except we were too poor to buy an actual table and there's a massively increased risk of carpet burn on your hands!
Some people will say that you should play a practice game first, but not me. It's too much fun watching everybody at the table have their brains melt over the flick-discs-out-of-order game XD
@@thejason755 Welp... I really hope that was some weird attempt at humor, because you'd simply be wrong no matter how you tried to justify it. Problem with thoughts like that is that individuals like you really enjoy just assigning whatever meaning they desire to a word without thought of what they're actually saying.
This was my favorite episode of them playing board games. That accent James, Charlotte, and Patrick were doing had me in tears, and Elyse just saying every shot needs a do over lmao
"I went skating at Maple Leaf Gardens when I was a kid." "It only cost me a toonie!" "It didn't cost me anything!" My first thought: Yeah, we have socialized skating here. Then Elyse said exactly what I thought and it was a real hoot.
This one was very fun to watch, especially with the Canadian energy Elyse was giving off! Also @9:25 Zeta Gundam Beam Rifle Sound Effect at the high-five between Elyse and Patrick
Real scores: Game 1: 10Pts J&C Game 2: 25Pts P&E Game 3: 0Pts Game 4: 25Pts J&C Game 5: 40Pts J&C Game 6: 35Pts P&E 75Pts J&C - 60Pts P&E *(95Pts w/ double pts last round)
I'm so confused... in round two Elyse scored two, I dunno what they're called so I'm just gonna say "holes", for apparently 20pts each, yet their team only had 10 for that round, or 25 by your count...? 😅
Only one team gain points each round, and the points you get is the difference between what the two teams scored. So Elyse & Patrick got 2 holes for 40 and then one in the 10, so a total of 50. And James & Char scored 25, so the difference is 25.
Thanks, I thought I was going crazy for a sec when they were adding up the round 2 score. I see why they pretty much blew off the scores at the end. XD
I always enjoy these canadian shows lol. As a fellow canadian i couldnt stop laughing especially that quip at the end where elyse threatens the crew of returning home to Canada lol

Best video y'all have had in a long time, and you put out a lot of bangers! The camera shots were incredible and made viewing a pleasure, but I spent half the time bent over from the feral comedy the gang brought to the table. Love to see it
When I was a kid my grandpa nicknamed this game Postal Code lol because like Elyse at 30:10 when you hit the center and the pieces go flying, it's usually into the next postal code lol especially if you really smash your finger and ring it off them
I wonder sometimes if so many cameras are necessary, but then a shot appears with just Charlotte and Patrick at 29:30 where she calls him a "little man". It's just a perfect clip to take out of context and I love it.
I showed my Canadian friend this video then he showed me a video of his local news showing a place in Canada that has "Crokicurl" which is basically Curling and Crokinole. Oh Canada.
After Charlotte called out Patrick’s face during that shot, my husband and I made Doubt faces at each other for like, the next 10 minutes. Patrick faces are iconic
Have I been playing Crokinole wrong this whole time? Usually we let chips stay on the board wherever they stop (if there's no opponents on the board to hit). Didn't know they had to be center circle Edit: Welp, James finally read the rules
Depends on what rules you play by, championship rules you gotta make it into or on the inner circle 15 point area to stay. But if just doing casual you can do it as long as it is on there.
Oh, boy. I don't think I've ever seen a Crokinole game go so wrong, so quickly, haha. The ENTIRE tournament rules, including odd situations, fits on a single side of a piece of paper. For those of you who actually want to know how to play crokinole, may I suggest the Tracey Crokinole channel.
Literally drinking Tim Horton’s and eating Timbits while watching. Thank you Elyse for making sure that James did not miss the most important rule of Crokinole: Before starting a new game, each hoser must drink a shot of maple syrup and give thanks to war-time Prime Minister John Diefenbaker (nickname “Dief the Chief”). Nearly tossed my toque in anger if you hadn’t pointed that oot.
Wow this video brought back so many memories my friends and I used to play this everyday at Lunch time when we were in High School. Great Memories shout out Ottawa, Ontario, Canada 🇨🇦 #TrueNorth
Crokinole Nerd here, @6:05 both of the tan pieces that were hit are supposed to be removed, as soon as you ricochet into your own piece it becomes "active" and if no opponent's pieces are hit with an "active" piece, then all "active" pieces are removed. It makes ricochet's a risky move. Also, if your opponent doesn't have a piece on the board. A piece on the line of the center circle is considered a fair shot
