      I couple mine with a tiny little alcohol stove as a backup (I hate relying on just alcohol stoves) that nest right inside on top of half a pop-can upside down... Just for those times the wood's a little wetter than you like or when you just don't feel like gathering it and getting the fire going for a cup of coffee only... It happens. :)

  • @raysills
    @raysills 7 лет назад +1

    I had not heard of the Bush Buddy stove... but it seems almost the same as the Solo Stove. Both stoves use "gasification".. to get more energy from the burn. And, of course, then there is the Biolite stove.. which adds a small fan to pump fresh air into the burn chamber, getting even more efficient combustion. The good thing about the Bush Buddy and the Solo, is that they have no moving parts. Nothing to wear out.

I ask because most of the morakniv reviews I have read/seen didnt like it for "heavy lifting" as much as say the Gargberg(?) due to its narrowing blade tip and not being full tang. What are your opinions on it? Thanks.

    • @Moleskineman
      @Moleskineman 4 года назад

      Adventure Time Outdoors from what I've heard the Solo Stove feels a lot worse in terms of quality even though it's made from a heavier gauge in steel. It also has three pot supports instead of four, so is less stable. Also, for me, it's a principle issue - the Solo stove is an absolute knock off of the Bushbuddy stove. The original maker didn't make a patent so you could easily (perhaps rightly) argue that it's his own fault, but still - I prefer to get an original product from a small company, even if it means paying more.

    It burns the wood gases with the double wall construction, that's why the burn is so complete. But at $80 a pop, too high for this guy - I've watched a few vids on making one from tin cans, and at no cost. True, not made of SS, and will rust after awhile, but always more cans in the recycling bins! And I can say I MADE THIS !
