If you get a chance please look at the video I posted this winter of the buck of a lifetime I shot during archery this past fall. I was super fortunate not to have wounded this beautiful animal. I got a deer that never left any blood trail for around 60 yards where doe or buck dropped...... But most of my deer that went far always headed for water when they bedded up..... ..... Congratulations on your buck

Yes , I have not experiencced it myself. This is the first deer I have shot at while they are looking at me so I aimed low, expecting him to drop. But he did not so it was a great heart shot.

There's a hundred things that can mess up a hunt, and there's a hundred more that can mess up the filming part! A self filmed mature buck! Fantastic!! Also, that was a PEFECT shot! So many young hunters shy away from the near side shoulder blade. You said, nope, shootin him through the chest! Lastly, the video as a whole is VERY well put together! If you notice in the footage the buck had his front leg stepped back and I was waiting for him to step forward, when he noticed me in my tree I knew I had to take the shot as it was so I tucked it in as close as possible. I am very glad I practiced so much and all the failures that come with filming finally paid off to get it right in this video! Thank you for noticing.
Nice job, beautiful buck, I know you know where the deer is but it's good to practice following the blood trail. It's good practice for when they go a for a ways.
