Better battle is Godzilla vs. Doomsday since he doesn't die the same way twice. It isn't meant to offend anyone but the idea that every classic superhero just destroys any modern concept of a superhero is just so precious and cute and outright ridiculous (like Thor vs. Raiden per se) and it doesn't seem like people even want to consider their "idea" of a superhero losing or getting destroyed. I'm not saying it's a one sided battle with Godzilla vs. Superman but I'd take my chances with Godzilla. Of course it depends on which iteration of either we are talking about because the original Godzilla (1954) would lose, and several other versions would lose as well, but if the regeneration and pretty much instant healing Godzilla with red spiral ray and/or thermonuclear pulse..... ummm..... maybe I'm missing something but that is formidable, not considering he survived a black hole, killed the devil himself, and nullified a planet killing asteroid..... yeah, I'll take my chances, with a Godzilla with those powers (not even counting Shin Godzilla's abilities to mutate to the extent they would eventually control every concept of life.... look up the explanations on those abilities because there are several on youtube). It's exactly like I would bet on the 1990s Chicago Bulls to beat the LeBron Cavs and the Curry Warriors in the NBA when they won the titles. My picks may not win, but they are all definitely in the fight and have great chances in any case. Both Godzilla and Superman are on essentially world/galaxy/universe ending powers given the right circumstances. For example, the Batman v. Superman v. Legendary's Godzilla then Superman is easily destroyed and disintegrated, but if we take every ability of each from every movie, comic, and book adaptation that they both have, then it is very equal with Superman having the speed advantage and intelligence advantage and Godzilla having the various different nuclear powers/pulse and almost instant regeneration abilities and just size and brute force. Superman came first in the late 30s (I think) and Godzilla later. But if memory serves the whole reason Superman is on Earth is because he draws energy and essentially power from our sun (or at least the same or similar class/type star).... makes me wonder what happens if it's just plain cloudy..... guess he just checks out for a few and flies into space to heal (just joking, well.... sort of because he did that in this video). Look, I was born on 1973 and I'm a fan of all of the superhero, fantasy, mythology, monsters, etc... thing; but it is just crazy how everyone since about 2010 seems to hype up every classic superhero against anything else that they could face and think it's an automatic win...... It's just a rock/paper/scissors argument really in the end and Stan Lee answered the question best when he was asked and he said the one that wins will be the one the writer wants to win, so I guess plot/story armor wins in any universe in any scenario, but I'll stick with my choice of Godzilla, although I love Superman and still have some curtains that had him on them from my childhood in a box somewhere in the garage.
