Thanks for the pattern playing reminder. Horn players do this way more than guitarists. I think the complexity of the guitar fingerboard is the reason that we may be more lick oriented. Also the point about being consistent with the direction of the pattern whether ascending or descending. Then there’s diagonal… life is short… so much to do. Do like Mike … he was a prodigious practicer.. saw him up real close… scary!!!
